According to the NFLN website's upcoming schedule, the following will be broadcast at 11:00 pm Eastern on Saturday:

NFL PRESEASON GAME: HAM vs. SF

Guess they can't make it less obvious anymore, huh? :toropalm:

The only relevant response I can think of is F'n LOL.

Well it doesn't suprise me when I see that our game is only replayed once and at 6am in the morning even after our game was played on Saturday. Yet Dallas plays on Sunday Night and their game is played the next Monday along with about 5 more replays of Patriots and Steelers games.

Maybe because they couldn't get anything close to chopped liver?

Ham. LOL. If our 1s don't beat up on their 1s something is wrong. We should be able to take SF easily enough.

What did y'all expect? A game featuring a team without any nationally following versus a team that projects to be one of the worst in the NFL this year. Why would the NFLN replay it in a prime spot?

I would at the very least expect an League Owned Network to get the initials of one of its own franchises correct. Maybe that's asking too much...:kitten:

Mistakes happen, Clayton called us the Oilers yesterday...again.

It's not worth getting this worked up over.

Definitely true, but I'm feeling ornery today so I sent this message to them through the contact us page:

I am contacting you in reference to your preseason broadcast schedule located on the following webpage:

http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/networkschedule?selectedMonth=August&field=selectedDate&selectedDate=08%2F27%2F2011

Specifically, my complaint is regarding this note:

NFL PRESEASON GAME: HAM vs. SF

I am a Houston Texans fan and find it very annoying that you have used the initials HAM to abbreviate the Houston Texans regarding their matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. As a league-owned network this is very unprofessional and unbecoming of you.

It appears as though one of your developers has a bias against the Houston Texans, and has let this show. While I understand that some teams get more attention due to their popularity, I find it entirely ridiculous that you would ridicule one of the teams in such a manner.

Due to this incident, I am inclined to cease visiting the www.nfl.com websites, and turn my attention to www.espn.com instead.

I'm kind of hoping I get either a "we're so sorry" overly apologetic for nothing letter...or an "eff off you *****" letter. Either would be rather amusing.

At least the Oilers were a team in this city. WTF did they get HAM from? Maybe from an IPHONE's autocorrect...

It looks like NFL and NFL Europe merged and Hamburg is playing SF.

I would hazard a guess that the slots on the schedule are filled by a drop menu, and with the NFLN now playing so many CFL games, the data entry monkey grabbed the HAMilton Tiger-Cats instead of the Houston Texans.

HAM is too good for this teams history. I'm thinking something derived from ham with a few chunks of unknown origin, mashed all together and thrown in a can.

Therefore, it should read SPAM vs. SF :kubepalm:

Houston has been a ham and egger team for most of its entire existence. They were a team of modest skills, who flash some skills every now and then, but has never been able to put it altogether to have that playoff run.

Remember in Rocky when Apollo Creed's manager offered the then unknown Rocky a chance at the heavyweight championship? Rocky responded that he was a "ham and egger."

By all means, let us know if they even acknowlege it.

Will do. No response yet, though, and as of right now the site remains the same.

:good:I like ham. Especially if it's a honey smoked ham. I eat it several days a week, especially on sandwhich's.

Perhaps it's a nod to Kubiak's affinity for the Denny's menu he uses on game day.
