Sorry if this is elsewhere.. I did not see it if it is..

But this AM on Mike and Mike, they had the Texans as one of the teams they talk about.. Both Mikes have Houston going 10-6 and winning the AFC South.

I have to say I was a bit shocked to hear them say it, and it would be great if they were right on their prediction with this !

Well Greeny is an admitted die-hard fan so I don't really mind, he's just showing his homerism.

It's different than sportscasters and writers who are supposed to be unbiased who just slob all over the Jet's nuts.. now THAT annoys me

I saw that on ESPN2 the other morning. made me feel kinda good. Now all that they have to do is make it happen.

With the schedule the AFC South plays, I could see the division winner coming out with a 9-7 record but based upon the Texans' history I'm less certain about the identity of the the division winner ?

It was mentioned in another thread. And I posted that Greenie picking us would be the kiss of death. It usually is. But since both Mikes picked us, maybe that will cancel out Greenie's negative influence.

So by this rationale, we go 8-8? lol

Yep and 5-7 after 12 games.:>) The Texans schedule is probably the worst home schedule they have ever had. The teams they play at home are teams that most of us have no interest in seeing. The Steelers and the Falcons are about all that tempts me to make the drive to Houston. The Browns, Raiders, Panthers, Jags, Titans and maybe Manningless Colts just don't do it for me. The ticket prices for the 2 good games are about double because of the limited good teams playing in Houston.

Whatever happened to wanting to see the Texans play regardless of the opponent.??

I think Colt McCoy has the potential to draw some Texas fans. Maybe even Cam Newton, if he plays well.

Not to rain on the parade, but both Mikes picking the Houstons means absoluetly nothing... we're stil the Texans and we need to actually prove it on the field before anything some talking heads predict will truly mean anything.

After all, Tom Jackson did predict us to go to the Superbowl last year and Mark Schlereth is always touting us as the next breakout team

We need to be more concerned about actually taking care of business rather than who predicts us to do so

Yeah, but Liam's mum picked us to go 2-14. Does that mean anything?

It's a long drive to and from Corpus and gas is expensive.

Except that we can't take care of business.

We're just a bunch of guy on the internet who share common interest in one particular team. We come here to discuss the going ons about this team, which generally includes media attention.

Of whatever kind.

& just because someone posts a link to said media attention, doesn't mean that person believes that makes the Texans any better. Their opinion of the Texans were formed way before Mike & Mike thought about supporting the Texans.

You feel free to concern yourself with taking care of business.

We'll continue to discuss & share all things Texans.

LOL It kills me when fans say "we" when talking about activities of a team as if the fans have any input into the outcome.

I don't think you understand that by "we" folks mean their team and nothing more. There is - hold on to your hat - no delusion of actually contributing on the field with the possible argument that making noise in the stands while the enemy offense is on the field can be of help, but that's about it.

I understand clearly. It still doesn't make the terminology correct.

Oh, you're one of those. Actually though, I could argue the terminology is just fine. Buuut if you want to split hairs that's cool. I expect never to see "LOL" in your posts from now on, seeing how you probsably didn't "L" let alone "OL". ":D

I'm pretty sure he wasn't talking about that "we" there is nothing wrong with that one.

These I think go over board. To complain to a fan about finding something to talk about in..... then to say we need to prove it on the field.... we need to be concerned with taking care of business.......

c'mon someone is thinking way too much of himself.

It's all good. Panther and I (I hope) have always been able to be on the good side of each other. Tonight, as always, we are on the same side :)
