he Atlanta Falcons and defensive end Ray Edwards have agreed to terms on a five-year deal, a team source confirmed Friday.
The agreement is worth $30 million over the five years, including $11 million guaranteed, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Edwards, who had been with the Minnesota Vikings, was one of Atlanta's prime targets in free agency. The Falcons made a play for Charles Johnson, but he elected to stay with Carolina.
The Falcons have been in a win-now mode since trading up in the draft to get receiver Julio Jones. They made it clear they wanted to add an explosive player on defense as well.
