For a 5th round pick in 2013, according to Schefty.

Guaranteed this guy tears it up. F'n Patriots.

Just said it on ESiN as well. I think this could be a bad move on NE's part.

Man, New England is good. You know Haynesworth is not only going to do well but he will have his act together over there.

Awesome move for only a 5th. The guy has barely played so he is fresh. He will be motivated and guys like Moss went there and tore it up for a couple of years. Perfect place. If it doesn't work I'm sure they have an out. But this sets up nice for them.

Considering a fifth round pick it is a solid move by the Patriots.

They have to pay him 5.5 million this year. That's a lot if he can't get in shape and be useful, but I imagine they will just cut him if he turns out to suck.

(According to Schefter)Redskins paying his bonus, can cut him at any time and not worry about the money

5 bucks says he's an all-pro this season. Of all the frigging teams...

I said in another thread that he's got to be kinda pissed off about this.

He didn't want to play NT in a 3-4 and that's probably where he'll go in NE. Unless they try him at DE.

I bet he tears it up for about a season then goes back to his old self.

I was just going to say. How does he fit there? (no pun intended)

Yeah, they're probably looknig at Haynesworth as part of a rotation.

Love it!! Now the Pats just need to get a guy on the edge.

I don't think there is a guarantee that Fat Albert plays hard though. You just never know with him. His attitude is horrible and the Pats management won't put up with it for long. If he is playing even 75% though, this is a great pick up.

NE does play a lot of different fronts, but historically they've been a base
3-4 team, so this is somewhat surprising ?

They move their guys all over. Wilfork plays a lot of end in a 3-4 front. He's also been seen standing up. Imagine same will be done with Haynes. Belli's a great DC as well as HC.

They use the 4-3 in passing downs, which is probably why they picked him up

I believe the Pats switch it up from 3-4 to 4-3. So he would only be rotational but imagine having Wilfork shut you down and then a fresh Haynesworth come in and then a fresh Wilfork and then a fresh Haynesworth etc....

I'm thinking about both of them on the field together.

Albert Haynesworth doesn't practice

Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth did not practice Saturday, one day after the New England Patriots officially acquired him, prompting speculation that he didn't pass the team's conditioning test.

Haynesworth has a history there. On the surface, it doesn't look good.
