Still very worried he will be anywhere close to his former self.

I'll believe it when I see it. The Texans PR has bullshitted so much in the past that I don't trust them on any sort of speculative positive news. Remember when OD was 'ahead of schedule' on his recovery, but didn't play the first 6 weeks? Or Steve Slaton? Yeah, whatever, it means nothing until it translates to starting games.

I really don't understand why this kind of stuff continues to make it out as "news"...

When a player actually comes out and says, "I'm behind schedule, I don't know if I will be back at full strength anytime in the near future if ever"....

That would be news.

Good to hear, LZ tweeted he was leading the defensive workouts using JJ Watt's playbook. I hope to see this guy come back and kick some ass!

I guess it's better news than hearing something less positive.

File me in the same category of opinion as dutchrudder: I've seen this act before, and until dude is on the reg season field and actually playing...uh, yeah whatever. We'll see.

And I also don't even want to guess what an achilles' injury does to the true physical state of a player who is coming back from it. It can't mean the guy is as mobile and quick-twitch as he was prior to it.

I'm sure CND has done some lengthy discussions about this, so I'm not asking for a surge of medical opinion on this. I just mean that this is a whole different ball of wax than coming back from a broken bone or even a separated shoulder or something.

Its news because basketball season just ended, the Astros are total garbage, and the NFL is in the midst of a lockout. There isn't much else for the Houston sports community to cling to then pseudo news like this.

Put me in the skeptical group, I'll believe it when I see it. Let's see how he is mid season.

Achillies injuries are some of the hardest to make it back from. To come back 100% is doubtful. But if anybody can make it back DeMeco would be the guy. Great work ethic.

I'm rooting for him.
