All right, if there is football this year here are the way early lines. For all of you non-degenerates: + means the underdog; - means the favorite.

Not a gambler, so if a team is favored by 5, and you take that bet, that means the other team has to win or lose by 4 or less?

This is predicting us to go 6-10 again. Blah... :headhurts:

Even though we presumably had a good draft they are still rookies. If all of them come in and make significant impacts that will be awesome, but that isn't likely to happen.

With the team we have now pre free agency, pre re-signing leach (hopefully), I could see 6-10 or 7-9.

Some of the worst lines I've ever seen. Someone will make lots of money off them!

Actually, the lines favor the Texans to win more games than to lose.
Basically, Vegas is saying that Houston is better than an 8-8 team.

Based on the lines, the bookies are setting the lines to reflect Houston is the underdog in 10 of the 16 games, thus meaning a 6-10 record.....according to the betting lines, which do not mean anything at this point.

Just saying, you may want to rethink the way you read sports lines....especially before you place a bet.

Just for fun

Week One
Indianapolis (+1) at Houston
The money should be on Indy; therefore, Texans should cover.
They can only do it by winning.
1-0

week 2
Houston (+3) at Miami
Miami wins.
1-1

week 3
Houston (+6) at New Orleans
NO wins
1-2

week 4
Pittsburgh (-3.5) at Houston
Pitts wins
1-3

week5
Oakland (+3) at Houston
HTN wins
2-3

week6
Houston (+7) at Baltimore
BALT wins
2-4

week7
Houston (+1) at Tennessee
Money should be on Tenn playing at home.
HTN covers --> wins
3-4

week8
Jacksonville (+4) at Houston
HTN wins
4-4

week9
Cleveland (+3) at Houston
HTN wins
5-4

week10
Houston (+3.5) at Tampa Bay
TB wins
5-5

week11
bye

week12
Houston (+1.5) at Jacksonville
Money on JACK playing at home
Toss up as JAX may win by 1
But good chance for HTN as they cover.

week13
Atlanta (-1) at Houston
Toss up
Money should be on ATL.
They may win by one, or HTN will cover.

week14
Houston (+1.5) at Cincinnati
Pick'em
Bengals probably cover.
5-6 plus 2 toss-ups

week15
Carolina (+8) at Houston
HTN wins
6-6 plus 2 toss-ups

week16
Houston (+6) at Indianapolis
Indy wins
6-7 plus 2 toss-ups

week17
Tennessee (+6) at Houston
HTN wins
7-7 plus 2 toss-ups

7-7 with 2 toss-ups.
Those two needed to be won by just one point by the opponents.
Likely end up with 8-7 and a push.

As many questions as there are about the Colts, Tacks and Jags, I have the sinking feeling that it will still take more than 9-7 to hit the playoffs..........and with all the changes coming with the decrease of usual prep times for "practice," I'm very skeptical of the final outcome........still hopefull...........but still very skeptical.

If you are betting on the underdog.

If you bet on the favorite: subtract the points from the favorite’s final total.
If you bet on the dog: add the points to the dog’s final total.

That's what I am thinking they will do this year.

They win 2 homes games and 4 road games which is par for the course.
