Michael Huff OAK S will be a free agent should the Texans have intrest in him?
Has Huff lived up to his draft position?

I think he is a strong upgrade over Pollard.
Huff has shown the ability to cover and make plays.
What are your thoughts?

Huff would be better off as a FS, imo.

By now, you could pretty much consider him a bust. He hasn't lived up to his draft position at all.

But he does have skills, and a fresh start somewhere will do him some good. I think in the right situation (I wouldn't consider that to be us) he can still be a solid starter.

And he went to school down the street from my house.

He dosent have 2 live up 2 his draft position - he just has 2 be an improvment over our current players. i think he fits the bill.

I want no part of Michael Huff. He's been a huge disappointment considering what he was supposed to be. He doesn't really make plays in the passing game and his effort in the running game was absolutely atrocious when Houston played them. Granted Arian Foster was a beast this year, but holy crap he was bad (horrible angles and piss poor tackling), his run defense is a big knock Raider Fans have against him.

Michael Huff is not the answer here...even if he might be marginally better than what Bernard Pollard was this year (but last year Pollard was WAY better than Michael Huff has ever been in his career)....he is NOT the answer, please look elsewhere. And this is coming from a huge UT fan.

Free agent S Michael Huff confirmed that he did not sign an extension with the Raiders before the CBA expired on March 3.Internet rumors had apparently surfaced claiming Huff was the latest to land a long-term deal from owner Al Davis. On the contrary, the Raiders didn't even slap the fifth-year safety with a restricted free agent tender. He appears headed to the highest bidder on the open market. Mar 17, 7:44 PM

Michael Huff also had 4 sacks, 3 INTs, and 3 forced fumbles. Just now coming into his own. I'd expect #Cowboys to have lots of interest.

Plus he's worked with Rob Ryan before.

I'd explore briniging Huff in.

He was a part of that DB group that was considered pretty good out in Oakland.

Plus...it's Oakland. Wouldn't be the first time a player has left there and went on to play better elsewhere.

Could you imagine?

Nnamdi Asomugha and Kareem Jackson as starting corners.
Glover Quin and Michael Huff as starting safeties.

Nickle situation, move Quin up to the line to cover the WR and bring in Nolan at safety.

Address the Front 7 early and often in the Draft.

I can imagine the Texans having the weakest run support safeties in the league if this plays out.

Huff was really good against the run at UT. Has he fallen off in Oakland?

The Raiders have had one of the worst run defenses in the league since Huff joined the team. I'm not going to put the lion's share of this on Huff. But he was part of the defense. And he has played FS for the past 3 seasons. Who would play SS between Quin & Huff? The Texans would be better served spending their FA $$$ on a SS.

If all things were equal, Quinn at FS and Huff at SS... Just throwin' that out there for the sake of discussion...

That said, with no pressure from the front seven, it matters NOT!!!

Oakland has been a tough team to throw on for quite a few years as well. I don't like the idea of him at SS but him replacing Eugene Wilson at FS for us, assuming Glover stays at CB, would be a nice win imo.

If we sign Huff, then I think Quin stays at CB and we put Huff at FS, which is an upgrade from Wilson. Then we need a SS.

I think we're more likely to go after Mikell or another one of the SSs than Huff. And then I expect us to draft a FS. I expect us to go after a FA CB and if we don't get one, then Quin goes back to CB and the rookie starts at FS. If we do get an upgrade FA CB, then Quin shifts to FS and the rookie has to work his way onto the field.

No to Huff. Anyone remember Foster's 70 yd scamper last year against the raiders? Huff was the last guy trying to get a hand on him..and as we know, he failed...this highlights 1 of many knocks on this guy. He takes bad angles and for as good as he was tackling at UT, he's for the most part been awful at the pro level doing it.

Someone needs to pull up the highlights of Michael Huff when the Raiders played us this past season. It's not pretty....then again Foster did that to quite a few people......still there's no explanation for how Huff let Ward outrun him.

Yeah, I have a new brother in law who grew up an Oakland guy and he kills Huff. Just don't think the guy is a good football player.

Michael Huff at FS; Gerald Sensabaugh at SS
Glover Quin, Kareem Jackson and Jason Allen at CB

Not an elite secondary by anymeans, but an improvement over last year and, in my opinion, a realistic shot at happening.

Huff spent over $25k on this stripper. Now I don't know Bob McNair nearly as well as you guys do, but doesn't he tend to stay away from players like Huff?

I highly doubt Michael Huff will be signed by the Texans after seeing this.

I know McNair has a reputation, but Huff blew money on a stripper. It's not like he hit a woman or got caught with drugs or anything.

In any case, I don't think we sign him anyway so the point is moot.
