Obviously it's AJ because he's the greatest WR in the NFL now. Mario is maybe in the top 8 DE's in the NFL and Cushing without being "over-trained" is pretty good but not great.

Are we supposed to judge them based on their workout routines or how they show up on the field?

Megatron is Calvin Johnson, AKA the second best receiver in the league. AJ is "The Beast".

Cool articles though. From a strictly workout standpoint, I would say B-Cush is the biggest freak. From a football standpoint, AJ is the greatest at his position in the NFL. Perhaps one of the best of all time. His routes are perfect, his hands are unparalleled, and he has a freakish combination of speed, strength and leaping ability. Also, 4% body fat is pretty ridiculous.

If you are going with natural ability I would agree 100%. I also think based on athleticism, Mario is much closer to AJ than some probably think, a 40" VJ and a 4.66 at 295 is mind blowing.

If you are basing it off workouts, I would reverse the order.

Taking all things in (workout, performance on the field) i'd have to go Mario - Andre _ Cush.

I put mario 1st b/c dude is damn near 300 lbs & a 4.6 40 means that on a straight line, he can run with some of the best WR's in the league (fitzgerald, boldin) & that's just ridiculous. & while he may not be head & shoulders the best DE in the league, he's in the top 5 which isn't too shabby.

AJ used to be a track athlete & those guys workout hard to begin with so his freakishness is at least somewhat attributable to that.

Cush- well he may workout hard but i gotta see what he looks like next year before i come to a conclusion about him.

AJ as megatron? More like Optimus-prime-your-pump-and-kick-your-ass.
MW isn't a speck on AJ's ass. Same goes for Cushion. He went from Cushing to cushion when he lost his 'roid rage. Jury is out on him.
If Phillips can't get MW motivated to bring it MOST of the game, MW is damn near a bust. So much potential, so little effort. I know all the stories about injuries, but Bruce Smith and Reggie White weren't healthy for entire seasons, either. Nobody is. IMHO, MW just isn't living up to the promise. He seems to only get motivated when publicly called out. phillips just may have done that already, hoping that MW wil show up in great hape and ready to execute.

Williams in no way is a bust. I would much rather have him over Reggie Bush. Bush is the bust if anything....

Andre Johnson is an overall Beast-man and physical freak. He just dominates, is ridiculously physical, strong and tough. His mind is one of the toughest on the team. He is incredibly quick/fast for his size - HUGE dude and has great hands and body control. He's the ultimate football freak. One Word: EFFIN'FREAKandBEASTofNATURE!!!

Mario is a physical freak. So athletic for a man his size. But he's not quite the dominant freak that AJ is. One Word: ATHLETICISM.

Cushing is a workout warrior. I don't mean that in a bad way like is often said, but he's a workout freak. He wins the workout award but he will never be as dominant as AJ. One word: Workoutaholic.

This thread got dug up?

It's a tough call.

Mario is a physical freak. He has all of the physical tools to be a Hall of Famer, but I don't think he has the mental fortitude to become one of the "all time greats" that have played the game.

Andre is an athletically gifted and physical specimen. He is built really well, has great football skills, and has the mental strength to be a great one. He's a man among boys on the field and we're lucky to have him on this team.

Cushing is a beast in the gym. He's a workout warrior and I think that PED helped him his rookie season. I'm not judging the guy for it, but I think that you can't put him in the same category as someone who dominates when they are clean.

So, based on my reasoning, I have to go with Dre. He has all of the 3 things that make a player one of the all time greats.

I think Larry Fitzgerald AND Roddy White would have something to say about that.

Obviously though Andre > Mario and Cushing because Andre has done the most with his physical gifts.

Mario is a physical monster too but he just hasn't accomplished all that Andre has, but lets not forget Mario is only 26 so maybe one day he'll go from being a top 10 DE to a definite top 3 DE...or OLB/DE or whatever they plan to do with him.

Cushing has to prove himself all over again IMO as if he was a rookie.

Agreed. He also plays the game very smart. From day 1 he went to the sideline refs and checked with them before the game such that before every play he could make sure he was lined up OK. Now you can see any of them, he just looks their way and they nod that he is OK. Rare call on a WR but he takes the time to make sure it doesn't happen to him.

Arian Foster went from being an undrafted practice squad player out of the University of Tennessee to the NFLís rushing leader. Fosterís workout training routine helped him achieve superstar status as one of the NFLís most dominating running backs playing for the Houston Texans.

Fosterís routine consists of a track workout early in the morning, weights in the afternoon followed by a midday core training session and ending with another track workout at night. Thatís a total of four sessions per day.

Foster trains with his brother, Abdul Foster. Abdul believes being his brother is an advantage as a trainer because he understands Arianís body better than most. He knows when Arian should be pushed versus giving him an adequate day of rest and recovery. Abdul told Menís Health, ďIím lucky that heís my brother, and that he is willing to work as hard as he is. But I also know his capacity.Ē

In terms of his diet, Arian would eat something light before his workouts. He wants to provide his body with a mix of carbs and protein before his workout for added energy and proper recovery. After his workout, Arian eats a breakfast consisting of egg whites, toast, mushrooms, vegetables, and either turkey sausage or turkey bacon along with some orange juice.

For some added motivation, Foster stated ďI use anything I can to get through my tough workouts, from my family, to my status, to our team succeeding and winning it all. I want to work like Iím the best and I use any motivation I can find to help contribute to me working hard which will help me contribute to our teams success.Ē

In terms of his in-season training, Foster deemed, ďIíll still work just as hard during the season as I did in the off season, the majority of what I will do wonít be as intense as it was in the off season, a lot more mental and fine tuning workouts is what Iíll incorporate.Ē

Doc, it's very obvious you Rey are on different pages than 76. I see both sides and both have merit, just views that are 180* out. I'm thinking give it a rest and see what this season brings. All in all the proof will be in the pudding this season. They both f'kd up and they both performed well at times. I think the "agree to disagree" stance is probably the best stance to take at this time.

My take is I hope they both take a big step forward this season. When that happens I think all this off season back and forth will be quickly put aside and we'll all be in :fans: mode.

That said, we may all be surprised when Sherrik, Shilo, Roc and especially Mr. trade back into the 2nd Brandon Harris and who ever else's light clicks and we see on the field what the FO saw in them to draft them in the first place.

Hope this made sense. I feel better going into this season than I have in a LONG time.

This is a rhetorical question, right?

Andre - Optimus Prime - Johnson is the obvious answer.

Mario, as respected as he is by the guys who have to line up against him (they voted him into the "Top 100"), isn't feared like Prime is.

I don't really know which guy Cushing is just yet. Is he the DRotY guy or is he the slightly-better-than-average guy we saw most of last year?

Actually, I think I'd put Arian Foster ahead of Cushing as far as being a "freak" at his position. The dude is just so smoooooth when he runs.

I have agreed with 76 that KJ was getting too much blame for an overall horrible secondary. It just seems that he's now obsessed with proving KJ above average and all other CBs below average. It doesn't seem like an apples to apples discussion anymore.
