I know everyone on this board, myself included, is incredibly jealous watching these 2 defenses play football.

Big Ben just got his nose broken. Haloti Ngata is a manbeast.

2 missed opportunities by the Ravens so far. That fake punt would have worked to perfection.

Boldin touchdown. Ravens offensive line doin a good job in pass protection.

Pretty nasty, they are saying it's not broken but you can most definitely tell by the angle of his nose...that is broken.

Great game. Like you guys I love this kind of football.

I could have done without the Costas impression of Jim Mora just now though. "Plieyoffs, PLIEYOFFS." Go smell a hot dog at Ebbets Field, Bob.

The day Ray Lewis retires I would be calling him and offering whatever it took to get him on my coaching staff. He completely sparks and motivates that defense and has for many years. He has an intensity on every single play that I'm not sure I have seen in my lifetime in the NFL.

Yeah, he's a bad fuggsugger tonight. Maybe he misses the flight to Houston.

Unbelieveable. Too bad Flacco is so Flacco. 13-10 pending the PAT.

See Mike Singletary.

I always liked Mike Singletary, but I believe Lewis has a fierceness Singletary doesn't even possess. And besides, I didn't say I'd make him head coach. Position coaches and defensive coordinators are very important also.

See Houston Texans defense...

Love that call, play to win the game.

In that very same situation Kubes would have punted.

I could've sworn that was him making that 3rd and 2 call out of the shotgun.

heh, yeah I thought they would run it but honestly sometimes it seems like a wasted play running against these teams.

Not watching TV, why not attempt a long FG to tie it?

Ravens looked like the Texans at the end there. Let a blitzer go free on a play that should have never been a pass anyway.

Big swirling winds. Kicker said his range was 50 yards in that direction. Would have needed a 55 yarder. Had to go for it. No guts, no glory.

Big winds? Throw the ball.... right.

Exactly what I thought too. Replay showed it wasn't tipped...he just didn't get the ball to the receiver at the first-down marker.

Heck of a game. WOW, is it fun to watch competitive football!

Right actually. Look at McFadden and see what's going on there. Don't run into the teeth of a mean Pittsburgh line when the pass, especially the pass toward a McFadden-laden reciever has been working. (I wish I knew how many TO's Baltimore had left...lol) It isn't like a Hail Mary where the wind would really effect the ball. At 3rd and 2 the wind wouldn't be a factor. If they ran that wouldn't be the worse thing either since it's four-down territory, but I would have passed.

It was a 2 yard pass; to a wide open guy. Should've completed it.

I think I say this every time these two play, but it's nice to watch actual NFL caliber defenses doing work.

And Lucky, you're right about that. Ooo boy, Schaub better wear a little thicker padding for this one.

Ravens are going to kill us Monday Night. The only hope we have is the score won't be embarassing because the Ravens aren't a score 60 type of team.

Harbaugh pulled a Kubiak (to the extreme) and ignored Ray Rice.

Wonder if the board here would explode if Arian only got 9 carries throughout a close game.

I don't think the Ravens are going to kill us.

I'd like to see it happen, but I just think the Texans will play well enough to keep it close or maybe even pull out a surprise win.

That had to be one of the BEST football games I've seen in YEARS! The Steelers are on their way to :trophy:x7The refs seem to be oblivious to cheap shots and late hits when they happen TO the Steelers. WTF NFL? That hit on Miller should have been flagged and fined and why was there no call for punch Roethlissburger in the nose?

Yeah, but it shows how inconsistent the rule is called on the field. Both plays involved a play on the ball, so it's not like the referee's can say the fouls went unseen.

Fair enough, but I'm curious why NEITHER play received an on the field call.

Fair enough, but I'm curious why NEITHER play received an on the field call.

IMO the technology looking over their shoulders has dulled their sense of urgency to get it right on the field at the crucial moment. When I called baseball or football games I knew there was nothing to fall back on so I'd better get it right and be to the point about it. I wonder what I would be like knowing that there were cameras and rules to correct me when I screwed it up and no consequence when I did.

Usually a replay can correct the problem before the page is turned, but clearly not everytime.
