I was really hoping when I clicked on the link it said, 'Practice Squad WR Paul Williams injures groing'....

Crap, we need Mario pretty bad. Pretty cool, he leads all DEs in the league with 5 sacks. Oh wow, he's on pace for 20 this season. lol

If it's not one thing it's something else with Mario. Dude is TOUGH, but, injury prone.

Noooo!

I would love to see the ENTIRE team on the field at once, that would be great.

Let's all pray it is not serious!

Wait... are we sure he injured his? Maybe it was someone else's. I think he pulled someone else's groin. what a wuss, too scared to even pull his own.

Wait - is that what happened to Favre? He was trying to get a groin pull?

No it was his. Pollard tapped him on the shoulder. Mario turned around and that was that.

Couldn't we say the same thing about Dre?

Mario tends to play through most of his injuries though, so this doesn't worry me right now.

I think there is a bit of over reaction. Mario was listed as probable last week with a groin. And seems to be fine this week.

#Texans DE Mario Williams had an MRI yesterday for groin pain but says he'll be fine and expects to play. He called it "a little boo boo"

Cushing will get the two sacks that Mario was to get. No problem as long as we have a full squad when we go to the Super Bowl this year.

Mario has a groin injury, but a pulled groin isn't something that will keep you out of a game. Now, he may not be 100% and dominate in the pass rush/ but his run stopping will still be there and he will still cause a double team. IMO, this groin injury won't have a huge affect on his play.

Questionable????

He'll play.

IIRC, he has played many times after bieng listed as questionable.

He has been listed as probable all season regarding a groin injury.

He has been on limited practice ever since the season started. It was obvious that something was smoldering. The "groin injury" has never been characterized. As I first pointed out when his "hip injury" (remember "injections" into hip) turned into "groin injury," pain in a groin can originate from pathology in numerous anatomic regions It could be an adductor muscle injury, a hip joint injury (such as labrum tear or fracture or severe arthritic irregularities or chips) or even worsening sports hernia (remember, he was examined by the sports hernia specialist who never stated that he had no sport hernia.......just that Mario did not require surgery).

One of my favorite quotes ever.

Mario's going to play. Mario said it was "a little boo boo". So we'll see how little or big this boo boo is.

I have come to accept that this is just part of the package with Super Mario. Hes gonna play, and kick some effing ass.

I hope so! Did he aggravate the groin injury during practice?

If Mario doesn't play against NY, I'll be really worried about our d-line. He's always been the anchor of the d-line, and we already have little to no depth at that position.

Will Mark Anderson even be able to play against NY? Seems like he'll have to learn our schemes first.

That's good news to see our players so dedicated to the team. I'm just worried that playing in the game will exacerbate both of their injuries.

How much time to heal Dr? If we sat him next week and the bye week would that be enough time for him to be fully healed for the Colts on Nov 1?

I wish I could answer that question for you with any semblance of accuracy. But we really don't even know what the actual problem is. If he has a sports hernia which was felt to be such that he might be able to make it through the season and delay it to the offseason, then it can only progress with additional stress. If is it an adductor muscle strain, it could take weeks to even a couple of months to avoid acute flare ups, depending on its extent. If it is a hip joint problem (such as labrum tear, or stress fracture or severe arthritic irregularities or loose intra-articular chips), it is likely to progress until there is surgical intervention. Again, the best case scenario would be a minor muscle strain which would benefit by at least a week or 2 of true "rest."

You saw what happened with AJ. He injured his leg........was shot up with "pain injections" then thrown back into action..........then was reinjured.

We all want our warriors out there on the field. But there is a little principle that we as surgeons are acutely aware of:

PAIN is a WARNING SYSTEM that something isn't right. You ignore or take away that alarm system and bad things tend to happen. No different than an antivirus program on your computer........bypass it or ignore its alerts........and you can quickly find yourself in a heap of trouble.

At least avascular necrosis has been ruled out, right?... RIGHT?

It should be able to have been ruled in or ruled out. However, an athlete can play (albeit at a deteriating level) with this condition until the latter stages that typically lead to fracture. So, as we can hope that this is not the case, we can be assured that the Texans know.

I like Mario. But I'd like to see him sit this one out.

I'd like to know if anyone would step up & fill his spot for us. I have a feeling the way these guys have been gelling & growing, someone would.
