Thanks Texans!

If we can't score from the 1/2 yard line then this is going to be a long year.

Eric Winston killed the drive. It would have been 1st and Goal on the ONE.

PockyAF
09-26-2010, 03:19 PM
Another clutch TO by Koob?

Hopefully it's a game-changing TO, like the others two in the previous games has been. Koob has plays has been money after a TO.

For ****ing get it.

Clock has just hit midnight. The carriage just turned into a big, fat, ugly pumpkin and we're wearing a ragged, torn up dress.

Looked to me that if Winston hadn't held Schaub never would have got the pass off and there never would have been a PI flag.

mattieuk
09-26-2010, 03:23 PM
On another point, what good did that FG do? We still need two touchdowns, like we would've if we'd missed that 4th down conversion. Way I see it, we might as well have manned up, and taken a go at the TD, and at worst give them poor field position.

Goatcheese
09-26-2010, 03:23 PM
We needed 15 points to win. Now we need 12. How is that bad?

Eric Winston killed the drive. It would have been 1st and Goal on the ONE.

We started on the half yard line. I don't think a do over from the 1 would have made a difference. They just got pushed around.

Touchdown + 2PT + FG....I guess.

Yup, but its still two possessions. Take a shot at the TD, to make it a one possession game.

I know, I'm clutching at straws...I think we coulda done with a statement kind of play, after getting out asses handed to us on those short and goals.

Cjeremy635

I'm not sticking around here, too pissed off after watching the game play of our team today. This is a bunch of BS! They are playing flat and uninspired football. This is the "old team", not the new and improved Texans squad. Very disappointing to say the least....... These guys better get their heads out of their asses. I'm afraid it's too late today though.....tough loss to handle if it happens, mainly due to the way we are playing. We are not playing up to our potential.

 Yeah that poor Mr Mcnair, he doesn't make any money from owning an NFL team.

I wanted to keep him around because he was better than anybody else we have, and in a year you are trying to make the leap to a playoff team it's not very wise to have such a shit secondary in a league that increasingly relies on the pass.

Yes, he has lots of money. But over-paying players is not how you build a great franchise. D-Rob would surely be an upgrade over what we have out there now, but I don't believe he is a long term answer for our team. I would have rather seen us keep Reeves to try and help groom the young guys.

You're right. We should ignore his past play for the Texans and assume that he would be playing exactly the same as he is playing for a brand new team and system.

And have you seen him play this year? Pray tell, how much worse is he getting burned than our corners?

Hindsight is 20-20.

Hindsight is 20-20.

Sure, I agree. But I think pretty much everybody assumed the secondary would be our weakest spot, and even if you agree that Robinson didn't deserve a huge new contract we could've still held on to him for an extra year and groomed some replacements instead of going with what we have now, in the year that was to be our "playoff push" year.

I'm sure our brass weighed that option, but they have shown that they just don't like running their team like that.

How much does Cush affect our pass D and our Secondary? I wonder if the pass D gets better when he returns?

That said, this is a young secondary. Only way they get better is by getting game day experience. Hopefully they learn from the mistakes of the first three games and are exponentially by the end of the year.

Cush has had to be away from the team during this suspension right? I think that means no practices or being with his team. I don't think that he will help us in the secondary right away, but after a few games he will.

Ya there is no D-rob, but hopefully they will look for some new solution. Either by changing our defensive schemes, or finding a veteran out there in free agency.

I think one thing we haven't really talked about is the poor play by Wilson. On a couple plays Jackson released the receiver and Wilson missed the assignment.

I would like to have seen Nolan get some game experience in garbage time.

Never like losing, but it's quite not as hard for me to take when your team clearly deserved to lose. Texans fans are so used to watching them find ways to lose they dominated statistically, but this time, yes, this was a loss that was entirely deserved.

Cowboys or not, to me this kind of loss is infinitely easier to take than, say, the Rosencopter game.

I would have liked to see anybody but Wilson in there by the 3rd quarter. He made KJ look worse then he was.

Props to the Cowboys. The defense really did well at pressuring Matt Schaub and not letting Houston get into a passing rhythm until garbage time (where it really doesn't matter). I woke up this morning not really feeling good about this game, and started to believe the Cowboys would come out like they did against the Saints...and they did. I wish the Cowboys had won last week against Chicago. Houston needs a new secondary. If they stick to that running game, they will be hard to stop.

Oh, and I'm never making another gameday thread. Ever.

One positive: Damn glad I didn't pay that high price for a couple tickets!

Oh, and the longhorns were blown out yesterday, so at least one good thing happened.

Isn't Barber a strong safety and Wilson the free safety?

Why not start Pollard & Nolan next game?

I think its rather obvious that the biggest problem we have on defense in with our defensive secondary. Our defensive line is average at best (with Mario Williams getting the most sacks), the linebackers are the best we've ever had with Ryans, Adibi, Sharpton, Diles, and later Cushing, the DBs are another story.

This upcoming FA/Draft, we need to grab some CBs who can cover as well as find a safety who can help the corners up top. If we don't, opposing teams are going to pass, pass, and pass some more to take advantage of our glaring weakness.

Hey guys,

I missed the game today I was watching some other team get their pee-pee's kicked in by their cross state rivals after a week of telling the media that they were tired of hearing about the other team and acting like this game was no big deal.

They really looked bad and looked close to how I remember seeing them in games passed. But I was kind of drunk and tending to the BBQ, so surely this wasn't the Texans right?

So how'd our boys do?

:sarcasm:

Who grives a crap how many wins the cowgurls have? Totally irrelevant. We don't need no stinkin' cowgurls to tell us how much we suck! Btw, the cowgurls were the ones being talked about as making SB history this year.
