Austin, Texas police believe a man was shot over a Dallas Cowboys football game.

Police arrested 66-year-old Robert "Jugg" Johnson Sunday for allegedly shooting his daughter's boyfriend, Darius Maxwell.

Officers say the men fought after Johnson refused to allow Maxwell to watch the Cowboys game on his television.

I hope the guy wasn't seriously hurt. With that being said...

This part of the article had me rolling:

Even at 0-2 and floundering, you Cowboys fans can't get enough of your beloved team. So much so, in fact, that it appears you’re more than willing to be shot just to make sure you get your weekly dose of holding penalties and poorly timed bubble screens.

Blue Star Exclusive: Tony Romo's Hat Speaks! (http://www.nbcdfw.com/blogs/blue-star/Blue-Star-Exclusive-Tony-Romos-Hat-Speaks-103289329.html)

Dear Cowboys Fans,
I know that Sunday was rough for you guys. It was rough for me too. I'm sure you think that hats, being inanimate objects and all, don't care about the results of football games but that's not true. I've loved the Cowboys since the moment I was created at that sweatshop in Bhutan and I share your pain at this hour.
That's why it is so distressing to learn that so many of you are taking out your anger on me. I can't choose my owner anymore than you can choose the hat that Tony Romo chooses to wear to a press conference after a second straight disaster in a season that's only two games long. I'm not supposed to be in a situation like that.

Click the link, it gets better.

Man shot after dispute over Cowboys game, affidavit says
By Claudia Grisales | Tuesday, September 21, 2010, 01:26 PM

A 66-year-old man is accused of shooting his daughter’s boyfriend following a dispute about watching the Dallas Cowboy’s game Sunday, according to an arrest affidavit filed today.

Robert “Jugg” Johnson is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, after he shot Darius Maxwell at his home in the 1700 block of West St. Johns Avenue in North Austin, according to the arrest affidavit.

An altercation began when Maxwell tried to watch the game at Johnson’s home, but Johnson told him he couldn’t, the affidavit said. Police were called to the home and Maxwell left, the affidavit said.

“Maxwell was at the residence arguing with ‘Jugg’ over watching the Dallas Cowboy’s football game on one of the televisions in the home,” the affidavit said. “When Maxwell was not allowed to watch the game, he became upset and a verbal altercation” ensued.

However, Maxwell later returned, the affidavit said. Johnson’s wife, Carol, tried to intervene, but while trying to remove children from the home, heard a shot, the affidavit said.

“Maxwell told “Jugg” to come outside and fight him like a man,” the affidavit said. Carol Johnson told him “‘Jugg’ was too old and too sick to fight him. Maxwell told Carol that it was not any of her business and to stay out of it. Carrol then turned to take children out of the presence of the two men. It was at that point that she heard a shot and Maxwell saying, ‘He shot me.’”

Maxwell later told police that Robert Johnson had called him a racial slur, the affidavit said.

“I didn’t do anything to him because I know he’s sick and can barely walk,” Maxwell said. “The old man threatened me several time today and told me that he would put something on me that would lay me down for good. I told him, if he was gonna do that he better make sure I don’t get up. That’s when he pulled the gun from his back pocket and shot me.”

Johnson faces bail of $10,000 bail, according to the affidavit. He was not shown in Travis County Jail as of Tuesday afternoon, according to jail records.

The affidavit does not state how seriously Maxwell was injured.

In Travis County this guy is going to get 10 years probation at the most. If he wanting to watch a Texans game it would be 5 years TDCJ.

Wait... wut?

A guy shows up on Juggs' property looking for a fight, is warned and told to leave, then assaults the home owner and is shot... but Juggs is the one facing charges?

That makes no sense.

That's why in Texas you shoot to kill when they're on your property.

You call 911 first, ask for help, explain you are fearing for your life, then shoot the sob.

actually not....In Texas.. if someone is on your property and if the resident/ homeowner has a belief that the safety and/or security of his property, family, or his own life is threatened he can defend his home with whatever force he deems necessary without fear of prosecution.
There is no stipulation in the law that any emergency help has to be requested.

Also, if you're referencing the case of Joe Horn, the D.A. filed charges, and
the grand jury "no billed " the case. He must live the rest of his life knowing
his case could be re-submitted to the grand jury at ANY TIME. Not good,
especially if some D.A. would use his case for political purposes.
