Hey Guys,

I called up Kevin and giving him a hand in tuning the site a bit when the traffic gets heavy, if you notice the site slow do this to give us a helping hand.

- Note the date/time
- What you were trying to do/say/read/write/whatever.

Then when the server is back to normal come here and post it for us.

Are you on Central time? That's right around the time we would be performing backups. Actually I was thinking the backups are performed around 3AM CST. I will need to check on that. The board will crawl a bit while it is be backed up.

I just checked in and hit 'new posts' and at first it gave me only posts made 55 minutes or longer before now. I rehit 'new posts' and got more up to date entries.

EDIT: Only showing this thread and others an hour old. Site could have been down for an hour for all I know.

I am being told this was a network issue and had nothing to do with the server. If that is true then that is good news because it has nothing to do with the work we spent 30 hours on yesterday.

FYI, the site was down again. I think you need to change out the hampster in the wheel again, he's just not keeping up the pace.

I had issues with facebook for some of that hour, but twitter and other sites were working fine.

Facebook is still down. I do recall that some of their servers are hosted on the same network as us. This is probably a national issue.

I am just glad it had nothing to do with our server.

Ok JB, turn off your computer, and open up the side panel. Look for something like this:

http://www.earthtechling.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/gerbil-1.jpg

Then reach in, pull out the lame hampster, and put in the new one. Make sure you face him the right direction and give him extra food and water. On game days, drop in some treats with extra caffeine. This will help him get over the constant smashing of the F5 button in the gameday threads.

Yeah, is that the commercial where they set up a phony bank and have people come in and divulge vital information...then say that Microsoft can keep that from happening to you?

I have a MacbookPro. I ain't ever going back to Microsoft. Never.

Had this thing for four years now. Not one single crash. Not one single virus. Never blinks. Never slows down, unless I have like 15 applications open and use all 15 for like a whole day before restarting.

The plus side is that my place of employment uses all Microsoft stuff, and since I am the I.T. Coordinator there...I will always have a job, fixing the same stoopid things that have been wrong with Microsoft computers since its inception. God bless Microsoft. They actually keep people like me employed.

Yet, Apple continuously comes in dead last for security of both their OS and browsers, the only reason that you have lived such a comfy life is that you had basically 0 market share. That is changing, so prepare for your change as well.
