Good signing there. He was the most obvious.

He had 6.5 sacks and a forced fumble last year in 14 games. Broke his leg in December and was placed on IR. The good thing is that the break was an isolated clean break of the fibula (the small non-weight-bearing bone of the lower leg), so he should be well healed with no residual performance effects.
Good pick up.

I wish Barwin very well and think he has a lot of upside but this is a good pick up nonetheless.

McClain: .........Texans signed veteran DEs Ryan Denney and Adewale Ogunleye to replace the injured Connor Barwin and the waived Tim Jamison.

Ogunleye and Ryan Denney signed. Tim Jamison waivedI'd place Jamison on the PS. Is that an option?

Ryan Denney who was born in Houston and has ties to the Broncos, had 2 sacks last year. He's a tall boy at 6'7" and 264. The knock on him is he loses leverage and speed is not his forte........so I'm not totally understanding this pickup.

Blocking TE?

Sorry...couldn't help myself...

Wally Ogunleye is similar to Barwin as far as size goes, also he's a sack specialist so maybe they intend to keep the crazy packages as long as he can man that position. I don't think he has quite the wheels Barwin does, especially at 33 but hey, this is a decent sign. If anything, we should feel pretty confident about Rick Smith's after-game-1-signings.

I think you mean Bills. No ties to the Broncos, but eight seasons with Buffalo - including (obviously) Kollar's time there.

I wonder if this might have been something that's been a possibility all along. Maybe not Denney specifically, but a swap out of a young player for a veteran after week 1. Not being on the opening day roster, Denney's salary's not guaranteed for the season, and Jamison does have PS eligibility. They also have an available PS spot last I checked.

I certainly don't see it as anything too significant, but then again, what do I know?

Probably a special teams pick-up...

Maybe Jamison made some mistakes on special teams???

When think of Mario having 9 sacks last year in 16 games...........not to shabby of a pickup with Ogunleye having 6.5 in 14.

That's what Alan Burge was just talking to me about. He thinks there's a good chance if he makes it through waivers.

Damn. Beat me to it.

When quarterbacks play the Texans, they always end up showing off their "Oh!" face. Like this guy:

Ogunleye (or "Oogly Doogly" as the Dolphins radio color guy used to say many years ago) was the one I was hoping for. Two is a bonus.

If taking two, McCray would've been interesting, to have the recent SB experience. I guess the Kollar familiarity was a factor...?
