Well, he DID set the all-time NFL record for rushing yards against the Colts. But yeah, probably a fluke. Couldn't even start on another team.

Leach is a freakin' beast.

You aint kiddin , he was a monster today .... and the entire Texans OL was dominant.

I was really happy to see the Texans able to run the ball when everyone in the building knew they were gonna run the ball ..... Not only did they run it but they did so in an overpowering fashion.

We just have to keep this man healthy. I know it had to be done today, but if he gets this many carries a game he will last maybe 2 or 3 years tops.

Arian Foster just joined the elite club of NFL players that can shut Andre Johnson down for a game.

I really doubt they'll keep him at this level for the rest of the season but, now every team we play will have to look for the run.
Play action will work the rest of the season-great plan on Koobs part!

Schaub didnt look as good today as he has in the past .... maybe thats a credit to Indy's defense.

But considering the circumstances and the way Foster was churning out yards , he deserved to have the ball in his hands.

Yeah .... If Foster can run like that on a consistant basis , its going to be near impossible to defend this offense.

Its just so nice to see this team able to run the ball when everyone in the stadium knows they are gonna run it .... Dont think we have seen a performance like that for a Houston team since Earl was toting the ball for the Oilers.

Seems like if you go for 3 TDs they could get your name right.

He'll be changing his name to I-Ran Foster soon anyway.

Well. He was almost non existent in the blocking game today. Therefore it was his fault that Schaub threw the pick.

Ummm...I'm stretching to joke about anything negative to say about the kid.

I know by the time he hit 190 the record was already his. I want to say our team record was in the 170s, maybe 180s. Pretty sure it was DD that held the record, I think Slaton's tops was in the 150s or so, could be wrong though.

EDIT: OK, found it: "He also surpassed Domanick Davis’ team record of 158 yards, set in 2004 at Jacksonville."

Heck! He didn't surpass the record. He put it down on a tee, took out a club and smashed it.

Don't good o-line performances and good running backs feel sweeeeet.

Hmm... no. We got 219 yards rushing against the Jags in 2004, but DD only rushed for 158. Unless I'm missing something in the stat department.

The kid Foster is speaking in nothing but Haiku. Slaton is following him around counting out syllables on his fingers.

Actually, Foster is currently 8th in Texan career rushing with 488 yards. It wouldn't be a surprise if he finished the year at #3 on the list (Ron Dayne with 1385).

Matt Turk is #28 on the list. Behind former Texan punter Chad Stanley (#27).

From Football Outsider's Quick Reads: (http://www.footballoutsiders.com/quick-reads/2010/2010-quick-reads-week-1)

The breakout star of the weekend was number 19 on our Top 25 Prospects list, but his new number is four. That's where he ranks on the list of DYAR accrued by a running back in a single game, thanks to his 124 DYAR performance against the Colts on Sunday. The record is 157 DYAR, set by Priest Holmes in Week 12 of the 2002 season against the Seahawks. Foster actually tied Corey Dillon's four-touchdown game from 1997 for the single-game rushing DYAR record, 122 DYAR, but Holmes also threw in 53 DYAR as a receiver on that day.

Foster may not end up fourth by the time the season's over once strength of opposition begins to factor in, but he won't fall far. Foster averaged 9.2 yards a pop on first down, converted four of the five third downs he faced, and picked up that one leftover on the ensuing fourth down. Nearly half of his carries -- 14 of 33 -- resulted in either a first down or a touchdown. Barring an injury or a sudden case of Eric Mangini, the Texans have found their starting running back for the foreseeable future.

EDIT: Something ESPN Prime Time pointed out, Arian's already almost 1/4th of the way to 1000 yards.
