Kubiak also said Xavier Adibi will start at outside linebacker in place of Brian Cushing, who is suspended for the first four games.

Antoine Caldwell will start at right guard and continue to rotate with Mike Brisiel as they did during the preseason.

Kubiak said he would make a decision on whether to start tight end Owen Daniels after watching him in practice and talking with him Friday. Daniels is expected to take 15 to 20 snaps in his first game action since suffering the season-ending knee injury at Buffalo last season.

Looks like Kubiak is gonna ease Caldwell into his first full season, much
like he did Duane Brown by platooning him with Ephraim.

What has Xavier Adibi done to win the SAM job? He missed most of preseason and wasn't impressive in his only action. If Kubes just wants to go with a vet, why not throw in Bentley?

WTF? Alan Burge just tweeted: "Strange IR transaction note about Ben Tate (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/transactions) (could be a glitch)"

Indy is a passing team, and your probably better off with two guys who can cover. I like Bentley's physicality but maybe Indy isn't his best matchup.

WTF?

How does someone get taken OFF the IR?

Is there a rule that you can do that as long as it's before the first regular season game? Is Smithiak playing Jedi Mind Tricks? Is Ben Tate ready to roll and is that why we didn't pick up another RB?

I hope it's true!

Definitely a glitch. Tate is done for the year and then some.

Can't say I'm happy about Duane Brown having a hammy issue against the Colts DE's.

Yeah. What's up with that? Is he not going to play?

Mario Williams (groin)

If Mario's got a sore groin, then someone needs to send that man some women! :smooch:

He just needs to work that out himself like the rest of us.

If he can't work it out on his own and is injured because of it, I think each of us can chip in a few bucks to help him out...
