Ouch, Kubiak low on the list.

1. Bill Belichick, Patriots
Belicheat #1? Seriously?

2. Sean Payton, Saints

3. Jeff Fisher, Titans
Really? I think he's a good coach but 3rd?

4. Mike Shanahan, Redskins
Another good coach who is a little too high.

5. Mike Tomlin, Steelers
Top 10, not top 5.

6. Andy Reid, Eagles

7. Tom Coughlin, Giants

8. Ken Whisenhunt, Cardinals

9. John Harbaugh, Ravens

10. Rex Ryan, Jets
Taking a 9-7 team and going 9-7 makes you a top 10 coach now?

11. Mike McCarthy, Packers

12. Jim Caldwell, Colts
Hard to say with Manning on the team, but he should be higher than Rex Ryan. He took his team to the Super Bowl FFS
13. John Fox, Panthers
Good coach, bad personnel guy
14. Brad Childress, Vikings
bleh coach blessed with a wealth of talent.
15. Wade Phillips, Cowboys
WTF has Philips done with an incredibly talented Cowgirls team? NOTHING, that's what. A good coach would have a hand full of rings by now.
16. Mike Smith, Falcons

17. Tony Sparano, Dolphins
He copied a college offense and used it in the pros for temporary(and limited) effect. He also forced the picks of players suited to his already outdated gimmick offense and they're already being cut.
18. Marvin Lewis, Bengals

19. Norv Turner, Chargers
Should be a lot higher. Turner is a top 10 regular season coach, and atleast top 15 overall.
20. Lovie Smith, Bears

21. Mike Singletary, 49ers

22. Jack Del Rio, Jaguars
He's about to get fired if the Jags don't have a winning season.
23. Pete Carroll, Seahawks
24. Gary Kubiak, Texans
:Kubiak isn't a great head coach but he is a brilliant offensive mind who turned an embarrassing Texans offense into a perennial juggernaut. He has out coached Shanny when they've gone head to head. 24th is a joke and the writer should have his press pass pulled and shoved up his ass.
25. Eric Mangini, Browns
Mangina is a *********, but he isn't a bad coach. Should be higher.
26. Josh McDaniels, Broncos
McFailure should be lower. There are too many reasons to fit on one line.
27. Todd Haley, Chiefs

28. Chan Gailey, Bills

29. Tom Cable, Raiders

30. Jim Schwartz, Lions

31. Raheem Morris, Buccaneers

32. Steve Spagnuolo, Rams

Kubiac isn't the best head coach in the league by a long shot, but he damn well is higher than 24. That's frigging absurd.

Fisher number 3!?

HAHA, the list is a fail for the most part.

*He is a good coach not top 3 at all*

I wonder if you took a poll of the players rather than some media melonhead how the list would fall .... Likely considerably different than this garbage.

not only taking a 9-7 team to 9-7 makes you a top 10 coach but also having the last 2 games of the year handed to you or you would have been 7-9 does as well.....

Who’s the best NFL coach? (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=tsn-166944)

Kubes ranked 24th. Ouch!

Who's the best NFL coach..........IDK, the guy who has the best players.

Bill Belichick isn't looking like the big "genius" these days post Tom Brady's injury, spy gate, and since all his vet defenders moved on/retired.

Oh and there's no way in hell Jim Caldwell is the 12th best coach in this league.....only reason why he's that high is because he resides in the guest bedroom at the House that Bill Polian and Peyton Manning built.

Wow. We're hard on Kubes here in Houston, but 24th? Laughable.

He took over a 2-14 team and had us at 9-7 and almost in the playoffs. It took him a while, so Im not giving him top 10 status, but 24th?

Yeaouch

Kubiak deserves his ranking until he actually does something.

Fisher has been to a Super Bowl, and he went 13-3 a couple years ago.

Ryan went to the AFC Championship with a rookie QB

Kubiak has taken an extremely talented team and...done nothing. 5-7 starts the last 3 years should tell you something.

How is it that Kubiak is 24th and Pete Carroll , who hasn't coached a down in the NFL this time around is considered better than He is at 23? I am no Kubiak fan but I'd bet he is a heck of a lot better than carroll.

Oh, and if I didn't mention it, Jeff Fisher hasn't doesn't shit either.... C'mon SH!!!

He has done more than Kubiak. He has made it to a Super Bowl and had several playoff appearances...Kubiak hasn't done that.

Actually, Carroll has a winning record as a headcoach in the NFL. I think he's like 33-31 or something.

The sun shines on a dogs ass some days!! 1 Super Bowl appearance in 16 seasons?!?!! WooooHooooooo!!! That gets some panties a little moist... :gun:
Jeff Fisher is a decent coach, but for his tenure with Pud Adams, he hasn't accomplised squat (although he rocks the epic porn 'stache).

Ouch, Kubiak low on the list.

1. Bill Belichick, Patriots
He hasn't seemed like the unbeatable coach since Spygate....

2. Sean Payton, Saints
Should be #1

4. Mike Shanahan, Redskins
Really?

5. Mike Tomlin, Steelers

Texans fans saying Fisher hasnt done squat when Kubiaks greatest claim to fame is a 9-7 franchise record season. Thats funny stuff.

Fisher has done very very well consider what he has had to work with. You say 1 Super Bowl in 16 years as if thats terrible. Most Coaches dont get that 1.

Fisher has a winning record. Once the Oilers became the Titans and got settled into their home in Nashville in 1999, the Titans under Fisher have been in the playoffs 6 of 10 years. The Titans are relevant more than they arent. 104- 72 since they started play in LP Field in Nashville. Thats pretty darned good.

To dismiss him as just some decent HC is not only silly, its flat out wrong.

No funny would be a Tacks fan coming in making fun of a 9-7 season when the best Fisher did through 4.5 years was 8-8.

Like I have told you before and I am shocked you just dismiss what Fisher had to deal with during those 1st 4 years.

You have never answered that point... Most people agree that Fisher coaching those years with the Oilers was one of the best coaching jobs in NFL history, yet you dimiss it like it was trash.

When Fisher and the team got settled in a home you saw what he has done.

Explain why you keep going on about his 1st 4.5 seasons? Do you just ignore how he held that team together during all the moving? Do you not understand that for 4 years his team basically played nothing but road games?

Its not funny at all... It just makes you look like you know nothing about the game. But Texans homer making fun of a coach and team that has been to the Super Bowl and has had numerous playoff appearances is very funny. It also arrogance based on nothing. Texans fans dont want to pay their dues. They want something handed to them they havent earned. Most passing yards and 1 superstar player and the Texans fans think the Texans are the greatest team in NFL history. Thats funny!

I understand all that, but he hasn't coached in the NFL in a long while after coaching how many years in college. That was another team in a different era of football, so with the Seahawks he is like a new NFL coach brought up from the college ranks in many respects. I just don't see him as being better than Kubiak at this time imho.
I can't believe I have written a second entry defending Kubiak. :headhurts:

Never answered as in this has been asked multiple times? - BS. But here goes. I used the first 4.5 seasons because Kubiak has had 4 seasons. Really wouldn't make much sense to use Fisher's first 13 for comparison now would it?

Blah, blah, blah they were moving. Yeah they were moving a team with talent. Year 5 coming up now with Kubiak there is Andre Johnson from the old regime.

Yes they had to deal with moving but there is no way to quantify that just like there is no way to quantify how playing away games affected New Orleans and got Payton his job. But Fisher took over mid-season for a team that had seven straight playoff appearances before Pardee got fired.

There is a huge difference between getting Shottenheimered for going 14-2 and taking over a 2-14 team.
