Texans placed DL Tim Bulman (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.
They signed James Wyche to take up the open roster spot. A valuable rotational end-slash-tackle, Bulman will probably need surgery on the injury, which was reported to be significant. He'll be a free agent in 2011.

Dang.......with Schobel retiring and Bulman out for the season, depth at DE just go a little thin...

But no worries........Malcom Sheppard should get a shot. I want to see what he can do.

& Sheppard :kitten:

I was about to say I don't see him playing DE...

But I was trying to think of who our fourth DE was and I drew a blank...

Sheppard first cut his teeth as a pass- rushing DE, check out his highlights against South Carolina, RELENTLESS ! moved to DT junior yr. to help team because of youth along the line, had 7 sacks as DE, makes more sense than bringing in journeymen, Sheppard knows the system and could play DT when called upon.

I mentioned Jamison a few post up...But I don't know if he's our fourth DE??? Maybe I guess...

Look guys, I'm sorry. I told the ol' boy that he should think about it a second before he bit off more than he could chew. You see the outcome. I apologize to all of you, but he had to learn his lesson.

Injury bug sucks. It always seems to bite at the one thing that's going to help us turn the corner. Either the main guy or something else. This year the thing that was going to help us turn the corner was our depth. Now it's going after our depth.

Tim is a top notch guy and one of my favorite Texans! Last year during camp, I got his attention and asked him if he would sign the pic below. He said he would after that practice session. The session ended and he started to walk off the field, got stopped by some reporters and you could see that it dawned on him of his promise he had made to me. He put down his pads, told the reporters to wait, ran accross the field, signed the pic, gave me a hand shake and went about his business with the reporters! What a great guy!
I hope he gets well soon and we keep him around. Real high motor guy with a lot of character.:tiphat:

Photo was taken after recording his first sack on Dan Orlovsky! It is now on my wall in my gameroom!

Wyche's stay wasn't long.

NickScurfield (http://twitter.com/NickScurfield)

The Texans just announced that they have signed WR Derrick Townsel, a rookie from Murray State, and released DE James Wyche

Maybe Kollar, Schaub, and Dre should drive up to Columbus, to talk to Schobel about coming out of retirement.

Big time bummer about Bulman, I always liked his intensity when he had a chance to play, and he seemed like a cool guy.

Now Trindon is out for the season not that he was going to make the team because I don't think so but I still hate injuries nonetheless though JMO.
