I didn't know Roy Williams (safety) went to the bengals.. they said he dropped about 20 or 30 lbs

I feel the same, please no injuries. So far I am very impressed with Phillips. Um, McGee, so far so good.

I watched the speech for the second time today and Emmitt was awesome. Of course since I'm female I could shed a tear or two. It was good to see the number of team members at the Enshrinement, and was really great to see Step and for him to include Pono's name when thanking Tui.

I always knew Jerry was a workout machine but after watching the various HOF stories about him and just how hard he did work it is no wonder he excelled. He's a magnificent athlete. Just one of those guys you go "how did he do that?"

Michael Irvin said he's the best football player ever. I don't really have an argument against that opinion...

To me, the best speech last night was Floyd Little. That man is very well spoken and just gets "it". He sees the bigger picture of what life is all about and he seems like a great man. I was really happy for him and his family for the honor bestowed upon him. I could listen to him talk for hours I think. When he was speaking about his family and life, you could just see that everything was genuine.

Come on now guys, of course the Bengals would be screwed if Palmer went down. So would about 30 other NFL teams. :P And if you think the Bengals and/or Cowboys back-up QBs look bad, wait until you see our own John David Booty and Dan Orlovsky, heh. It's preseason, let 'em play and just hope no one gets injured. I saw Crocker go down during the telecast(not sure the extent) and heard the Cowboys lost one of their backup TEs with a torn ACL.

I didn't see it live but saw a replay of the speech and the "highlite" when Emmit, balling like a little girl, told Moose he loved him.
Heard that later Emmit asked Moose to go to California with him and get married, maybe a Cowboy fan could confirm this rumor ?

Hate seeing players go down in pre-season no matter the team they play for, especially in the HOF game

I wonder if Emmitt had his heart on his sleeve when he refered to himself as "a jewel surrounded by a pile of trash." It has been sickening seeing one of the most selfish players to ever play be lauded as a great teammate...I guess there were alot of Cowboy hacks rewriting history..I wonder if he gave Barry Sanders credit for walking away from the record.

Well I've never been called a "hack" so thanks for that one...hmmm..Emmitt was the opposite of what you describe but everybody is entitled to his own opinion. I don't imagine you can find a player that played with or against Emmitt that would say he was selfish but unfortunately smack rules message boards sometimes over common knowledge. Guess you missed the Giant game when Emmitt separated his shoulder and they continued to ride his back to victory. Or the durability of the guy. Or the 4 rushing titles. League MVP. SB MVP. You must have missed all that.

Emmitt has said many times he thought Walter Payton was the best..and his family was there to celebrate with Emmitt when he broke his record. I'm guessing Emmitt will return the favor when/if the next great back breaks the record.

And who knows about Barry? NOBODY knows. He walked away. Emmitt continued to play.

Can't argue with facts. Barry decided his life didn't include football anymore. Emmitt decided he had a goal and he went out and achieved it. That selfish little dude!

Tony D was just more fun to watch and had style. I just like a RB with style and flair like Eric Dickerson, OJ Simpsonand Walter Payton. I will double check that, but I do remember going to a ticket agent to purchase a ticket at almost double the face value high high up in the Dome less than an hour before game time. I could have sworn it was Nolan in a first game perhaps an exhibition or something. I recall the place was packed, and it had to be major for me to be going to a ticket agent for a baseball game.

It took a little digging, but I found it.

The Astros have been in Texas ten years longer than the Rangers, but the Senators/Rangers franchise is one year older than the Astros. They met, starting in 1992, at the end of Spring Training with the Rangers winning 2-0 claiming the very first Silver Boot. On April 1, 1993, Nolan Ryan returned to the Astrodome as a member of the Texas Rangers in front of 53,657, the biggest crowd to see a big league game in Texas up to that point.
