Well, that is a much, much better list than the other one that was posted in here this week.

I don't know how good it is. He is apparantly ver high on DRob, to have the Falcons ranked 7. And the Bengals defense the most physical in the AFC?
The Bears at 27?

I guess everyone has an opinion...

Schaub needs to take the next step, and Houston needs to win in the division.

Such astute observations. Sheesh, that's scarey. Right out of Kubiak's "playbook" (mouth).

That puts us in the playoffs if we can hold that position all year, so I'm happy.

Actually, it doesn't. The Texans are 12th in this ranking, but the #7 AFC team (trailing the Bolts, Ravens, Colts, Bengals, Jets, and Pats). So according to these rankings, the Texans just miss out. Again.

Is it just me or has San Fran been in our shadow since we "beat" them for the #1 pick in '06. All in all I think they have us in the right spot. If we get 2 of our 1st 4, we're in business for the post season.

If we get 4 before Cushing We are a go for Dallass in february

I'll never understand why people are ranking the Colts over the Saints but 12 is about where I put the Texans in my own fan ranking at NFL.com (thread in NFL forum).

Other than as a general feel for the direction of the team, these pre season rankings mean nothing at all. The general consensus that the Texans are improving but no one thinks they are ready to challenge the Colts yet is what I see in all these so called expert ranking lists. I think the Texans are ready to do just that, but will they? They were ready to sneak into the playoffs last year but didn’t. When the Texans finally step up and start beating good teams consistently is when we’ll know they are ready to challenge the Colts, but not until then. Of course if Manning retires anytime soon we could easily take the division. I do think we are a better team than either the Titans or Jags.

Which is why I said "if they hold that ranking all year"....if they hold that ranking all season they'll make it, because a couple of those AFC teams will drop out.

I think the top 5 on this list is really, really solid. I might not have it exactly like that, but definitely close.

For me, 1 2 and 3 are a toss up. I'd go

1. Chargers
2. Cowboys
3. Colts
4. Packers
5. Ravens
6. Saints
7. Vikings
8. Patriots
9. Jets
10. Texans
11. Bengals
12. 49ers
13. Falcons
14. Dolphins
15. Redskins
16. Giants
17. Steelers
18. Titans
19. Eagles
20. Panthers

Well, maybe a couple of the AFC teams below them jump up. Then what?

Who really cares what Steve Wyche has to say in June? But, his ranking would not put the Texans into the playoffs. Fortunately, that means squat.

Cowboys @ number 3

just another year for the organization with all the talent in the world but without the ability to win in the postseason. they are the reason i keep faith in the nfl. jackasses don't win. excluding those 3 rings the Pats won.

Funny you should say that because when I was thinking about our first game I kept getting this feeling that Manning is going to miss time after getting hurt in our game. There's just something creepy to the fact that we have to play them right out of the gate.

Did a little research to see what NFL.com posted last year. I found this from May of 2009. I will show the 09 Preseason ranking and who actually ranked at that number at the end of the 09/2010 season next to it. I did the 09/2010 season end result based on draft order for the 2010 draft since that goes by record and tie breakers.

2009 Preseason Ranking/End Result

1. Steelers/ Saints.
(They had the Saints ranked at #12 in 09 preseason. Please God!!)
2. Patriots/Colts
3. Eagles/Vikings
4. Giants/Jets
5. Colts/Chargers
6. Baltimore/Cowboys
7. Altanta/Cardinals
8. Chargers/Ravens
9. Cardinals/Eagles
10. Titans/Packers
11. Vikings/Patriots
12. Saints/Bengals
13. Bears/Texans
14. Cowboys/Falcons
15. Seahawks/Steelers from #1
16. Panthers/Panthers They got this one right.
17. Dolphins/Titans
18. Packers/Giants
19. Bengals/Broncos
20. Texans/49ers
21. Redskins/Dolphins
22. Jaguars/Bears
23. Jets/Jaguars (They weren't too far off on the Jags)
24. Bills/Bills (They got this one right)
25. Browns/Raiders
26. Rams/Browns (They weren't too far off on the Browns)
27. Broncos/Seahawks
28. 49ers/Chiefs
29. Bucs/Redskins
30. Raiders/Bucs (not too far off on the Bucs)
31. Lions/Chiefs
32. Lions/Rams (not too far off on Lions)

They were only right on two, way off on teams like The Falcons, the teams that they were fairly close on were teams that everyone and their mama were not going to do well. Just goes to show that these "experts" don't really know what they are talking about either.

Exactly, and have some rep for showing what we all should know, and that is pre season rankings don't mean squat except for arguing over. LOL

Would be nice if their prediction with the #12 spot had the same result this year though. I don't know what I'd do.
