The Houston Texans made it official, announcing the previously reported contract for sixth-round wide receiver Trindon Holliday.

A speedster with a 4.21 clocking in the 40-yard dash and a 10.0 in the 100-meter dash, Holliday was the first rookie draft pick to sign.

The LSU track and field All-American received a four-year deal with a base value of $1.886 million and a maximum value of $2.513 million.

Holliday finished his LSU career ranked second in school history with 2,453 combined return yards, while his 3,297 career all-purpose yards ranked 10th on the Tigers all-time list.

Meanwhile, the Texans announced that they've signed 16 undrafted rookie free agents.

That includes:

Rutgers fullback Jack Corcoran,
Arkansas wide receiver London Crawford,
Northwestern State Isaiah Greenhouse,
Temple lineman Steve Maneri,
Concordia offensive guard Kristian Matte,
Indiana linebacker Will Patterson,
Colorado State offensive tackle Cole Pemberton,
Indiana safety Nicholas Polk,
Bowling Green quarterback Tyler Sheehan,
Arkansas defensive tackle Malcolm Sheppard,
Arizona State cornerback Pierre Singleton,
Iowa wide receiver Trey Stross,
Texas offensive tackle Adam Ulatoski,
Wyoming defensive end Will Unrein,
Cincinnati safety Aaron Webster
Purdue safety Torri Williams

I've read that Ulatoski is pretty soft and Pemberton is pretty big (6'7" 315 lb).

Love this signing.

I was afraid the Texans didn't get him afterall. He was one of the last 4 that were still uncommitted last week. Glad we got him, because this team needs more competition on that O-line.

Some good signings to grab for camp fodder, I hope a few of them work out and make the team or practice squad.
