NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that Saints LT Jammal Brown is on the trading block.

The catch is that Brown hasn't signed his restricted free agent tender, and must do so in order to be moved. He might also demand a multi-year extension from any team looking to acquire him. If Brown was dealt, the Saints could move forward with Jermon Bushrod and Zach Strief competing on Drew Brees' blind side. Free agent Flozell Adams might be another option.

Probably would take something significant to move him. Easy to say now that he was who we should've drafted with the 13th pick, not trading down with them(NO) and selecting Travis Johnson 16th overall in the '05 draft.

the 3rd round pick we got in the trade down ended up being Winston. so, it didn't work out too badly... So, if we hit a homerun with pick #197 (SD's 6th we got in the TJ trade) this draft, then we could end up making out like bandits. Thanks Charlie!!!

Mario owned Brown during training camp. Not sure if Brown would enjoy that constant punishment!

I say do it..if the price is right. You can never have enough quality tackles.

He's a Pro Bowler so they might want more then we want to give. If I were the Saints I'd call the Skins', Hawks', Lions, Raiders, Bills, and any other team that needs a OT.

If we were in the market for a quality LT I'd go with Gaither from Baltimore. He's not coming off an injury like Brown and is more athletic. Still stings they got him in the supplemental for a freaking 4th rounder!

Not sure why people want to slide Brown in, not saying that he's an all pro at LT, but what gives people any indication he'd be much better at guard? Sides the staff isn't going to pull the plug officially on Brown until after this year if he doesn't make visible strides.

Trade rumors surrounding Gaither say Baltimore turned down the 49ers 17th pick in the 1st round. If we would have to match the value of the 17th pick and then some I don't really see that deal getting done.

Brown's biggest problem is being abused by speed rushers around the outside. He does a lot better when he doesn't have to defend the edge, which is why some of us would rather see him reach his potential inside.

I just don't see Baltimore turning down the 17th pick for Gaither. Prior to hearing this I had heard they were shopping him for a second. I thought that was a fairly reasonable asking price.

Perhaps so on Brown. I've just seen so many postings about let's move X player from their seemingly "natural" drafted position here. I'm just not a real advocate of it unless x player has seen any sort of time at that position. From what I recall Brown was a converted TE as opposed to lineman.
