Which one of the losses this year disgusted you the most?

9 and 12. I hate the Colts more than any other team so I guess that's why.

Got to be the MNF. I was so pissed at our lack of preparation for that game!

The Jags and Cardinals game was poor play calling. We shouldve passed instead of trying to push the ball in there. I understand if it happens once but twice is unacceptable.
Jets game was just pathetic. Offense, defense, ST everything was bad that game.
I already had the first colts game marked as a loss since they seemed to be on a roll at the time. I even backed up Kris Browns missed kick. BUT...we had two weeks to prepare for the MNF game and we were going against VY and the titans. I knew CJ would have an OK game and we wouldve blown them out but nope. They had a 3 point lead and Kris Brown does the same thing. :rake: Come on Kris you have two weeks to prepare! That's why I picked that loss as the worst one. The JAX game gets my second vote just becuase we wouldve had a chance to gone to the playoffs if we had won that

I said the week 13 halfback pass game and it wasn't even because of the halfback pass.

The defense was a complete no show except for Pollard. The defensive line was awful getting blown off the line and not forcing 3rd downs even. Cushing had his worst game and Zach Miller ate his lunch. The CBs couldn't cover anyone. The whole unit played awful and had no energy. Pollard was the only one putting in any effort.

I think offensively in this game we did as best we could given the Schaub injury. Duane Brown who was responsible for Schaub getting knocked out of the game shouldn't have even been playing because of his ankle and was pulled for Butler who was decent. When Grossman was in every snap was a negative play except for one bootleg rollout and it was a QB scramble not even a pass. Schaub was masterful when he was in and the coaching staff was beyond dumb calling the halfback pass when Schaub was on fire like that.

For me, it was the Jets game.

We go into that game thinking we're the shiznit and this is our season and we were going to feast on a rookie QB and we came out and stunk the place up.

That disgusted me.

All the other games, we were in and had every chance to win. The Jet's game, we didn't even show up.

The second worst was the choke against the Colts. We were totally up in that game and looked amazing in the first half. The second half? The Colts do that all the time. They've done it to other good teams. But I hated seeing us collapse like that.

Surprised the goal line stuff game hasn't been voted on yet. That was my 2nd one. 2nd only because we were down 21-0 and it was a positive to even get back in that game considering how good the Cardinals offense is.

Week one v. the Jets. We had so many expectations coming into the season and to have the home opener with those expectations - we needed that win. I'm not saying that I expected the Jets to be a bad team or anything like that. I'm saying the way we got manhandled that game took a lot of the wind out of our sails, early on. We were in catch-up mode ever since that week one loss... JMHO, though.

I went into the Jets game more as anxious rather than confident. We were being embarrassed throughout the preseason at home. Our secondary kept getting exposed in the worst way by Adrian Peterson and Mike Bell. Yeah, I know Cushing and Robinson didn't play during camp but we didn't really know what to make of them now did we? I was hoping we'd thump the rookie QB and HC but history has always been against us there. Baltimore the season before didn't concern anyone now did they? I'm not sure why everyone was gunning for our offense to be unstoppable? If not for Barber's fumble return... 24-zip. They punched us in the mouth then kicked us in the shin before finishing it off with a nice nipple twister.

It was after that game that I went... okay... maybe we're just not as good as we think...

MNF was a different story. A 3-6 team led by Radio should not be putting up wins against a team who just threw for over 300 yards and a TD. I knew Kris Brown was going to miss the kick. I knew it the second he trotted out there. It was a different trot. You just knew something was wrong. We had every opportunity to win this one outside of Chris Johnson. Our run game was broken. VY got what? 70+ yards on the ground too. This game was a must win.

Oh well. All in the past now. I will be expecting extra helpings of revenge, a dish best served cold. We have plenty of games to make that dish for... starting with the AFC south.

Man. that is just how I saw it! I knew we might struggle against the Jets and Ryan's defense (have we played well against a good 3-4 team yet?) so while I was disapointed, I knew we could make it up.

The MNF game though, coming off the bye, I just knew we would dominate! But instead, we came our totally unprepared for the option and VY. I was livid. There was no excuse for the Texans to lose that game.

I will never forget my disgust, sorrow, humiliation, rage, ... I don't know, but tho lose to the tinbreds and with Buck Fud watching and Sausage boy leading the cheer once again.... my blood boils in agony

The Tack game

It made me realize that winning that game was more important to the fans than it was to the Texans organization. I left that game mad. I said that I would never leave a game mad again. It was when I questioned whether Kubes was the right man to lead the Texans. To lose on MNF to the Tacks when the crowd was all fired up was an unforgivable moment in my book.

The next week when they lost to the Colts I just laughed when they blew that big lead. I knew there would be no playoffs in the Texans future after that game.

I'm surprised there are so many votes for the Jets game. Out of all of them that was the least disgusting to me.

I sort of forgot about MNF, maybe I blocked it out, but I do remember it being terrible now. I watched that one at a bar by myself as the only Texans fan, and there were 3 drunk Titans fans harassing me the whole time. Instead of my usual yelling and hitting things I sat there silently and tried to keep my composure. Ugh that was miserable. I think I was so humiliated I don't even remember the game.

Expectations were unusually high on this board as well as the football analysts. I even think we were favored by the sportsbooks. I think they said... Houston's offense will be unstoppable. Remember, the Jets were missing Pace and Ellis. Everyone was salitivating... then they cut our jocks off Bobbitt-style.

I understand why some feel that way about the Jets game. It was tough to watch.

I disagree. It think transitioning from a 3-4 to a 4-3 was the issue. A light went on with him the last stretch of games and he was our most dominant lineman... Ask Z even, he blogged about how deadly Smith's spin move is and how he was the toughest to block on our line the last few games once he got comfortable.

According to ESPN's MNF recap...

11 passes thrown to Andre Johnson. 4 caught. 28 passes thrown to everyone else. 21 caught. He had a bad game on MNF. Andre's the catalyst for beating the Titans. They solved the Andre equation.

I said the Arizona game, because after that game I believed we wouldn't make the playoffs. When you get stood up on the goalline that many times and your team just cannot make a yard to two to tie/win, you have some serious issues. It was like fortelling the rest of the season where we are knocking on the door to playoffs up until the very end, but the Jets make a stand and keep us one yard out of the post-season.

The loss that disgusted me the most was the first game vs. the Jags. Reason being, it was the only game I could afford to go to this past season, I shelled out over 250.00, only to see Chris brown fumble right in front of me! I don't think he could hear me cursing him, because there were so many others doing the same, but I gave it my damnedest.

The game that pissed me off the most was the MNF game... I haven't been that mad over a football game since the Oilers Buffalo game. :pissed:

This. The loss to the Titans on MNF really did a numbe on me last year. We had a game to prove that things were different yet come out and play an awful game with Chris Brown playing for God's sake.

That loss zapped all of the enthusiasm and excitement I had and I am not completely healed from that loss. I went through the motions the rest of the season. 1-5 record in our division pisses me off to no end and that is a prima facie evidence that we did not improve last season.

Gotta be the Monday Night game. A perfect storm of missed opportunities, late-game choking, national audience and bitter rivalry.

This.

All of the losses this year sucked. All of them in their own special ways.

But there was something especially bitter in that Monday night loss.... KB choking. Our inability to stop VY and CJ in 4th quarter..... and I had been some kind of amped up for that game. I WANTED that game.

So they were all bad. But that game. That MF'ing, er, I mean MNF loss was the one that left me disgusted. Wrung out. Pissed off.

So it absolutely, no questions asked, got my vote.

Almost went with the Jets because it was embarrasing, then almost went with the 2nd Colts game because we were kicking thier ass and took our foot off thier throat.

However had to go with losing on Monday night. That was just frustrating, and then we had to hear Gruden slober all over VY. That was like salt in wound, sunscreen in the eyes, and bamboo under the nails......

Could of went with the Cardinals just because I was there. It was awesome to see them get all cocky and then get dead silent, only to end up losing in the end.

Jets. We got punked. And basically we win that game and we're in.
Good Call....I agree. This was the game that ultimately kept us out of the play-offs...So much for the first game of the season not being important....

I'm sorry no loss has ever bothered me more than the 2004 regular season closer against the Browns that prevented our first .500 finish.

I am still bitter.

End rant.

Oh and I voted for the Colts loss.

Always hurts to come close to the best and fall just short.

I would say the first Colts loss. They were a field goal away from sending that game into OT. Winning that game would have put Houston at 6-3 going into the bye. Instead Brown misses the field goal and Houston loses the next 4 in a row to put their record at 5-7 until they got their next win. Winning that game and Houston would have been playoff bound IMO. Of course after this game the only thing going through my mind after all those close losses that followed was "that's the 2009 Houston Texans"

I said the Jags away game.

For three reasons:

1. Leaving Jacoby Jones in Houston, due to being LATE for a meeting, was beyond moronic. Look, Gary Kubiak, you're not exactly a Super Bowl team yet. So stop with the Vince Lombardi crap. You need all the weapons you can muster. If Jacoby does something during the week that will not carry a prison sentence, you absolutely put him on the field. You need every angle you can get. All hands on deck. Take care of the disciplinary action back in Houston.

2. The halfback pass was Kubiak's call. He fessed up to it in the Loser Monday presser. I watched the presser. He said "that call is on me..." so I don't want to hear anybody whine and say he was just taking blame for someone else's mistake. Bullhonky. It's on Coach Kubiak. And I think it was the wrong call, at the wrong time, and with the wrong guy attempting the pass. 2009 was not the year to let anybody with the last name "Brown" try to get our team over the top, to win games.

3. Frank Bush ought to know that Jack Del Rio is going to r-u-n the football there at the end of the game. If Jack doesn't get the first down off the running game, he's going to punt and make us travel a long field. I thought we were too scared of their passing game. We should have faked pass coverage with our DBs, then sent them flying to the line of scrimmage once the ball is snapped. I thought our defense got snookered on that last series by the Jags offense. It was painful to watch, since they had done so well for most of the season.

If we win that game, we're in. Yeah, if we won ANY of the other games...we're in. But that Jags game was one that was probably the easiest to win. I felt we outclassed them that day and they snuck out a win.

For me it was the Jets game - the only game that the entire team failed to show up and compete. They got embarrassed at home by an offense starting a rookie QB and the O-line got manhandled .... They had a chance to win every other game but that one they gave themselves no chance.

That's my pick too - we let the playoffs and the game get away without too much of a fight.

I just don't get it (and honestly, it's on me) how that first game against the Jets wasn't the worst loss of the season... We came into that season as a sexy pick. We were facing a rookie coach with a rookie QB, at home with so much hype going in.......... We had high expectations and yet we got man-handled, causing the start of our season under a bummer and playing catchup....

I get the MNF loss as an answer, I really do. But it's not like the Tinnbreds were as bad as their record indicated at that time..

Plain and simple, we win game 1 v. the Jets, we're in the playoffs and not playing catch-up...

...just sayin'!

Yeah, but we were coming in off a terrible preseason and facing a coach who had demolished us when he was DC for the Ravens. Plus Cushing and HWCNCS missed the whole preseason and most of or all of training camp.

HWCNCS = he who could not cover shyt...

I hated the loss to the Titans on MNF the most because I live in Austin, which means I am force-fed a diet of VY apostles almost anywhere I go. Having watched the game at Doc's Backyard, you would have thought I was in a suburb of Nashville, instead of a 2 hr drive from H-town.

And don't get me started on local TV coverage. :pissed: All I can hope for is that the Washington Redskins draft Colt McCoy in second round. By extension, that means I will never have to watch another Cowboy game on the TV in Austin because the local sports director will have to follow Colt's every move.

Oh, and Kris Brown is a good egg. Kickers just get the yips. Only thing that really seems to cure the yips is a change of scenery. Keep an eye at OTAs.

I thought they scaled back the VY hype quite a bit last season. It was just better.

OP didn't ask which loss was worst, but rather which loss disgusted you most.

While I agree with you in principle that the Jets game was the worst loss, I was thoroughly disgusted with the inability to protect our house against the Titans on primetime.

We got beat down by the Jets, so yeah, that was a horrible loss. But nothing disgusted me like the MNF for so many reasons.

4. Up to this point, yeah there were bad games but we still had a chance at the playoffs. This was a game we KNEW we had to win to get in, at this point no one thought we'd still have a chance vs NE week 17 if we lost this one. And they went out and played SO uninspired. Also this was the week Duane Brown lied about his health, went out and played on a bad ankle and got our QB killed on the first play. This one was a nightmare.

Jets game was absolutely horrendous.

As usual I was in a bar with all the enemy fans and it was completely embarrassing. You know how pricky Jets fans can be but even THEY felt bad for me.

Freaking pathetic and that first game had me shell-shocked for the rest of the season.

The worst thing about the Jets loss was the high expectations I had at the beginning of the season. I'm usually cautious at the start of any season but I let my guard down and decided to be optimistic and then boom, they lay an egg.

Without a doubt MNF against the Titans.

Not just KB choking, but prime time game and they looked unprepared to deal with Vince running the football.

But the Jets loss was the most disgusting to me. Losing close games doesn't hurt me as much as getting my ass kicked.

There were two things that made the Jets game unique. One it was the only one we got our asses kicked. Two, if we had won it we could have even gone 0-6 in the division (or lost any of the 9 wins but you see the point of that example) and still made the playoffs.

Game 1 vs NYJ. Getting slaughtered by a rookie qb and a loudmouth rookie head coach both playing their first game in the NFL was sickening. I didn't think we would make the playoffs after that. Pretty disappointing 3 hrs into a 6 month season.
