I have heard rumors that they are changing to a 4-3 from a 3-4, does anyone know if it is true?

The rumor is new to me, but could be possible if:

1) Hartwell will be a very difficult man to replace
2) Since more teams want to switch to 3-4, the Ravens might try to take advantage and get higher value players through trading some 3-4 personnel
3) With the loss of Baxter, if the Ravens cannot acquire another big name CB, they might abandon the blitzing ability of the 3-4 for the coverage ability of the 4-3.

Just some thinking off the top of my head. [so if some reasons are more stupid than others.... no one to blame!]

Anyhow, hard for me to see the Ravens abandon the style that's made them the top defense the last few years.

If they do switch to a 4-3 and Suggs plays DE primarly, watch out. That guy can rush. He will be up there with Freeney in terms of sack numbers next year.

So that would probably mean the Ravens won't resgin Marques Douglas then :hmmm: I think the Texans should make an offer to him if we don't sign Rocky Bernard :thumbup

With the copycat nature of this league I wouldn't be surprised if they used the 4-3 primarily as their base defense, but mix in elements of the 3-4 from time to time.

I didnt think Suggs was big enough to play DE. I know he is a quick guy that can put a move on anybody. It will be very interesting.

Have a look at Freeney alot of people underestimate him because of his size but he owns

Yes, they are switching back to the 4-3. I mentioned that in our mock draft. :)
