ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Rich Gannon (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=33) won't be offering his help to the Oakland Raiders (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=oak) again any time soon. A day after the Raiders rebuffed an offer of help from their former quarterback, Gannon said on Sirius NFL Radio on Thursday that "I won't make that call again." Gannon said on his show Wednesday that he had called team owner Al Davis to offer any help for the organization and struggling young quarterback JaMarcus Russell (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=10446). The Raiders responded that Gannon was the one who needed help. Gannon won the 2002 league MVP for the Raiders, leading them to the Super Bowl that season. Oakland has lost at least 11 games in all seven seasons since -- the longest such streak in NFL history.

When Gannon was scheduled for a production meeting in Alameda before a game against Denver, Herrera said Gannon was unwelcome and the Raiders considered trying to ban him from the facility before they realized they couldn’t.

“He seems to be a guy who can’t get over the fact that he played the worst Super Bowl in the history of the game and he wants to blame everybody but himself,” Herrera said on Sept. 26. “I guess it’s our fault he threw five interceptions.”

I almost hate John Herrera as much as Davis...but then again Herrera is a puppet and says what Davis wants him to say :brickwall:.

I have no idea what the hell Gannon was thinking though...he offered to HELP Russell? There is a better chance of Davis selling the Raiders then him being able to help that bust.

Once a proud organization, they are now the joke of the NFL; moreso than the Lions imo. Skeletor is running that organization straight into the ground. they are no longer your daddy's raiders & if i were a fan, i'd find a new team to root for.
