With a win against the Jets, the Bengals can take the 3rd seed from the Pats.

If a win would give Cincy #3 and match them up with the Texans, how hard do you think they'd try for that?

Hopefully they will crush the Jets! My biggest concern was that they would have no reson to play, but with us beating the Pats, that kinda changes all of that. I've got a good feeling about our chances. Regardless, it's the small steps and us winning today was a step forward, not a step backwards. If we don't make it, atleast we ended on a good note and can hopefully build from there. We don't have huge holes to fill this year, just some key spots that need upgrading. We did learn a lot about Foster today, that makes me feel good.

Go BENGALS!

GO OAKLAND!

Go CHEIFS!

IMO, they would like that. I think they aren't real happy we beat them and would like to stick it to us, so I expect they will play hard IF IF IF the 3 rd spot means much of anything to them.

we're still in if only one of the 8-7 teams (Jets/Ravens/Broncos) win? So we only need two of the three games to go our way?

This game means nothing if both the Ravens and Broncos win. Let's get one of those first before we start talking about this one.

Still too early? Broncos most likely won't pull a win out.

hmm.. Tony Dungy says if he was hte Bengals he would play to win today for the chance to play the championship game at home..

Random other guy says he would rest his starters so he could play a rookie QB with turnover problems at home.. and that Houston is a team that can come in and put up 25-35 points, and you dont want to face them in the playoffs.

Yep, unfortunately this is true.

Why would the Bengals want to play us?

I guess if they rest their starters hoping to avoid us they don't have the mentality of a champion any ways...will be interesting to see what happens.

Baltimore is the 5 seed. Cincy basically gets their choice of Jets or Texans

Does Cincy want to send the Jets home fast and get a rematch with the Texans? Or, do they want to lose against the Jets and hope to beat them next week again? Too long of a wait! :(

Houston the only name on the bubble...

F Peyton Manning. Wouldn't it be wonderful if Manning tripped on the bench and knocked himself out for the playoffs?. Pullling your starters to save them for games 3+ weeks away? The Colts must pay the price.

We'd be in the playoffs right now if it wasn't for that ridiculous move last week. I now know how the Browns felt in 2007

it wouldnt suprise me in the least if cincy sat their starters to avoid houston. without bias, the texans in the playoffs are possibly the most dangerous team because we're an unknown in so many ways, and known in ways that mirror (and upgrade over) last year's NFC champs.

kansas city just walked off the field (woohoo!). it's all down to how much cincy wants the 3rd seed, and who they're afraid of most.

Don't think the Bengals will be trying too hard, unfortunately.....they are already pulling some of their starters.....think they would rather play Jets than us next week......oh well....let's pull for a miracle.

right now all signs our looking like cincy is looking out for number 1 them so some players might not give that 100%

Carson brother might even start the 3rd

Well aren't Andre and Chad Johnson pretty good friends? Hope Dre told Chad to go out and score 3 TDs.

Sucks if the Jets just waltz into the playoffs... Even if Cincy plays this game and goes for the win, you know the Jets WANT this one more.

At least with Oakland and KC they had nothing to play for, and those guys on the field were playing for jobs. If only Frye had played the rest of the game.

So the Texans wouldn't do the same if they were in that situation? I hated them not going for the undefeated season but I understand why they did it. Especially after seeing Welker go down today....that sucks majorly if you are a Pats fan.

It's my understanding that the Bengals will either play the Texans or the Jets next week....the Ravens are out of the picture.....

Of course, that seems to be the consensus opinion on both the Bengals and Texans boards...so take it for what it's worth... I certainly don't want to get someone's panties in a wad by not quoting an authoritative source.

I think we have to hope they want a little revenge. I would rather play the Jets in the playoffs than the Texans. I realize the Jets beat us, but I don't think that happens if they play today.

Collinsworth just said on Football Night in America that the Bengals have made this game about getting respect, because they felt they were disrespected with the zero pro bowl bids. That this is thier first National TV game, and they are chomping at the bit.

Love it. Go Bengals.
