The New York Jets banned alcohol sales at Giants Stadium for their National Football League regular season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals on Jan. 3.

“With the late start of Sunday’s game, coupled with this being the final regular season game as well as the final game at the stadium, we feel it is prudent not to serve alcohol,” Jets spokesman Bruce Speight said in a statement.

The Jets and New York Giants will move next season to a new $1.6 billion stadium under construction in the parking lot adjacent to the current venue in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The first 70,000 fans to enter the game on Sunday will receive towels that say, “Win and we’re in,” Speight said.

There are going to be a lot of upset people on Sunday. Poor advance notice. I feel for those fans. The organization is extremely hard on their fans. Then again so are their fans but they're the customers. I expect a record high of people being ejected due to smuggling in liquor.

The Jets organization is losing a lot of money from this due to alcohol sales. Lord knows they make a killing off $8 beers.

Probably be a lot of empty seats, since people will be getting loaded before they get into the stadium.....

The Jets fan nation is one that doesn't need more alcohol...they're the ones that were assaulting women in the concourses.

Way things are going they didn't even need a drop until afterwards.

This is how a team that has that killer instinct looks like. Up 30-0 in the fourth and still wanting to put it in the end zone.

Jets are sending a message to the rest of the teams in the playoffs.

I have no problem with bannning alcohol. It is their facility and they can choose to serve or not to serve. Its like if you have a party at your house, you can have it with no alcohol if you so choose. Whether people decide to show is another issue.

Are you saying that those people in the boxes are not drinking coke and water?! It certainly LOOKS like coke and water
