The Bengals finally get their prime-time shot next week in Sunday's last game of the year with their game against the Jets at The Meadowlands moved from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on NBC.

This works to our advantage. If we beat NE then Cincy will play their best to wrap up the 3 seed.

I think this may be correct.

Which i'm not fully convinced is good enough to beat the Jets still. The Bengals haven't impressed me once this year. I've never said "damn, this team is good"

Hopefully the pressure of primetime will bring out the best in Cincy and the weight of everyone watching will crumble the rookie Jets QB.

Maybe they've also had enough time to cope with Henry's death. I mean the guy wasn't even in the ground that first game. I'm not trying to be an ass either, grieving people playing pro football sounds like the worst thing ever.

So we get to see JT O'Sullivan in primetime.

I don't see it that way. More like:

#1 seed > #2 seed - Home advantage in Championship game if you win first game.

#2 seed >> #3 seed - Bye in first round - like you already won one playoff game and no one got injured.

#3 seed ~= #4 seed - I just don't see much advantage unless the #1 seed is way scarier than the #2 seed. This year #3 seed gets you the 9-7 #6 seed instead of the 9-7 #5 seed. Then in the next round you get San Diego, which looks stronger than the Colts (not even counting this last weekend).

While sort of true, it will still be better if they play for it rather than just use it for a practice game. MUCH more likely to beat the Jets then.

I would hope that the Bengals wouldn't want to possibly play the Jets again in the playoffs and go ahead and finish them off now....if they can.
