ten million bucks worth of pi

Clearly he has not lived up to his contract. And there are lots of PI calls you can cite him for. This is just another long line of poor coverage he has provided.

Then again, has he been on Wayne the whole game? If so, 3 receptions for only 19 yards is pretty solid against a top 10 receiver.

Lost in the wilderness. Totally different than the first half.

We need a long, slow drive with a score, and we need our D to get it's crap together.

I am at a loss of words. I kinda was expecting something similar, nontheless it's hard to take. How can you be so terribly inconsistent.

To be honest its fairly consistent. All season the texans have been a 1 half team. If they played well in the first half, they laid an egg in the second. If they came out flat the first, they lit it up the second. It is really more consistent than inconsistent.

Dude. If we had come out in the second half with some decent play calling we wouldn't be in this situation.

We should all send a letter to Kubiak telling him not to call the play where Sschaub holds the ball down where the DL can get to it. And while he's at it, don't call the play where you trust Schaub to make a read as to where the DBs will be. Those two plays in particular suck.

Do y'all ever expect any accountability from the players? I'm not even defending Kubiak, and don't care if he's fired. 8-8 doesn't cut it. But for this game, this sample size, and this set of circumstances, all I see are a bunch of posters ignoring what their eyes should be plainly telling them. The players are choking it up.

Oh yeah, Kubiak needs to stop calling that play where four of our defenders bounce off some no-name guy on his way to the end zone, too.

TexansSeminole

You don't give your O line a chance when u throw on every down. We just got away from the run game, that was working for the first or second time this year.

We consitently get away from the run game and throw the ball on every down. You will get sacked, fumble, and/or throw INTs whe you do that.

Same shit every year.

That last run by simpson, I understand, you have one RB and 4 defenders... they aren't trying to tackle, they are going for the strip... that is your best chance for a strip.... I'm not as upset about that, its the lack of attention to detail that is most unsettling about his. I've already turned the game off... I've never done that in 32 years on this earth.

I'm generally a Kubiak defender, but the loss of OD is huge. Seems to me that you need to offset his absence by getting your playmakers in there and getting them the ball. Slaton and Jacoby are weapons so I don't get the rationale for not using them more.

When is the last time Kubiak has won a 'Big' Game? We win games to put us into playoff position....then lose the ones to make us a playoff team. Can't finish.

Just like we go up and get a good lead...then can't finish off teams to win these big games.

What the Texans lack is a winning culture. It's the same way in any company or business you work in. You have to have the right people at the top, you set the culture for the entire operation. I like Gary Kubiak, but he plays scared. Then the players start playing scared. Then we lose. Change the culture, you change your fortunes.

The problem with this team is on both sides of the ball. On offense, our line can't block with doing anything illegial and on defense we can't seem to cover anyone.

Our ability to cover receivers is what's killing us, so I say lets fire whoever the DB coach is!

I'm not laughing because other fans aren't laughing with us, they're laughing at us.

I'm tired of being laughed at.

I don't think Colt fans are laughing at your team. For the first ten years in Indy, we went through exactly what you're enduring now except that for us it was worse. We had two 1-15 seasons and a couple 3-13's I believe. We were picking at the absolute top of the draft and had the worst owner in the league in Bob Irsay (thank God he's dead).

It took us a long time to build a winner, but we got the best football man (Bill Polian) to call the shots, he's made the right picks (Manning, Edgerrin James, Freeney, etc.) and the rest is history. Those two rookie corners you faced (one of them undrafted) are playing just about as well as any corners in the league right now.

Sorry for another tough loss. I feel your pain. I really do. Hang in there. It took us over a decade of futility to get a playoff win. You've still got time and at least you're not the Raiders, Chiefs, or Rams.

By the way, that PI was bogus. Yes, I could see interference. No. It was not catchable and I thought it was clearly uncatchable.

The Houston play in the endzone was unquestionably not a touchdown. It's a simple rule. If the ball is caught in the endzone, the receiver has to maintain of control of it throughout contact with the ground. He did not. I was incredulous that it was challenged. I thought everyone other than Dan Dierdorf understood the rule.

Most of us do know the TD throw to AJ was an incompletion. I kinda think the rule oughta be changed, but the rules are the rules. Having said that, I would've challenged it too. I think all pro sports refs, umps, etc. are biased and encouraged to be so....and it was AJ, so it was worth a shot.

uh oh....

Here it goes again... :rake:

mario shows up to the game!

I'm watching this game again, trying to get in the mood. I just got finished watching INT, where Schaub & Andre were out of Sync.

The defense came out and made a stand. Manning connected with Garcon with his first pass for a first down. But after that, Mario gets a sack, he thanks Amobi, because Amobi is in Manning's face, preventing him from stepping up. 2nd & 18, Mario is throwing Manning down as he throws the ball. 3rd & 15 Barwin is in Manning's face on a stunt, Amobi is drapped around Manning's waist as he throws.

They punt, Jacoby receives it at the 5, 5 yard return.

Texans self destruct from here. 1st play is a bootleg that their line backer sniffs out. Chris brown picks up 4 yards on a run. 3rd & 6 turns into 3rd & 11, with a Chris White false start. Slaton picks up 7 yards on a screen. We punt on 4th down.

They get a fair catch on their 35 (great punt by the Turk).

Mario misses Addai (strong inside rush), running out of the shotgun. The D stops him for 2 yards. Next play, Mario is throwing himself at Manning, as he completes a screen. Cushing hits D.Clark 3 yards short of the first down (looks like he rung Clark’s bell). They don’t convert on third down (my wife & daughter took over the TV, so I can’t look) they are short by inches, and have to go for it on 4th down (they are still on their side of the field). It’s a run, stretch to the right, Cushing is in the backfield, trips up Addai, Adai skips across for the first down.

Colts continue their drive (into the 4th Qtr), which ends with a missed 32 yard field goal (Matt Stover, wide right).

Two possessions after the Matt Schaub INT, the Colts put up 0 points.

We get the ball back, 12 yard run by Chris Brown, 1 yard run by Chris Brown, 3 yard dump off to Slaton, incomplete pass intended for David Anderson.

We take 1 minute and 51 seconds off the game clock & punt the ball back to Indy (they start at their 11 yard line, march the field (with the help of a 17 yard PI by Dunta Robinson), 6 yard TD by Dallas Clark (go figure).

Why didn’t we win?

I think it’s that mindset Dungy was talking about.
