View Full Version : Chiefs WR Bowe suspended for drug violation
KANSAS CITY, Missouri (AP)—Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe(notes) was suspended for four games by the NFL on Tuesday for violating the league’s policy on performance enhancing substances.
Bowe’s agent, Todd France, said his client was guilty only of taking a weight loss supplement.

If his attorney's statement is true, this is something I wish the NFL would change. If I can buy it at GNC, it shouldn't cost you 4 games. If I have to go into the black market to purchase, then there is a problem.
Illegal drugs = 4 game suspension
GNC = Endorsement deal

Biggest game of the year coming for the Chiefs in Denver Sunday and this idiot pulls this move. What a teammate to have.

He's playing Sunday night, and it looks like he will keep playing until his case makes it's way through the court system:
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe will start in the team's quest to remain unbeaten and take control of the AFC West against the Broncos on Sunday night in Denver despite his arrest during the bye week for marijuana possession.
The league will review Bowe for potential discipline once the case is adjudicated. The Chiefs cannot discipline Bowe under terms of the collective bargaining agreement for an apparent violation of the league's substance-abuse policy; that falls under the league's domain.

Of course he's playing Sunday in Denver. He could have killed 5 people in the last 24 hours and he's still going to be playing Sunday because whatever he did will be handled in the offseason. But will his drug bust be an distraction from the Chiefs preparation for its upcoming game ? Oh yea, big time !
