How can they award the ball to Indy if it was ruled down? Our guys would have stopped trying to recover. (Theoretically)

Hookem Horns

eriadoc
11-08-2009, 01:20 PM
Schaub should have gotten everyone up for an immediate snap. Instead, he let the Colts have all the time they needed to think about it and consult the refs.

This team is killing me.

I'm not sure if Powers can be first guy to touch the ball after stepping OOB (non-forced step out).

Carr Bombed

I thought landing on a player was the same as landing on the ground, though?!?

No, a player isn't down until his elbow or knee touch the ground.......

You know what pisses me off more than anything else. Is if we just get annihilated, the absolute crap that will fill the local Austin media about Radio not being on TV.

How MFing pathetic are the letdowns year after MFing year by this team when we the fans expect to at the very least hang with a team like the Colts?

Look, I'm as diehard as anyone, which is exactly why I may not watch the 2nd half. I have my daughter and I'm not going to waste that effing up my blood pressure watching the 11 stooges on offense against Indy. My daughter doesn't need to see me want to smash my brand new TV and walk around cussing....and I'm sober!! Whee!!! Isn't that the best part. I'm getting more pissed than if I was drunk!

This is literally making me lose my damn mind!!!

This is the 1st game in a while I have put wagers with my friends on. Thank you Texans for reminding me why I don't bet!

I don't know what to think. My mind is spinning right now.

If the stupid son of a ***** that we call a QB could run a play on the goal line without calling a time-out to consult with Gary then we would have easily gotten away with that. Instead we have to stop everything when it's first and goal because we can't get one god damned yard when it's important to do so.

The Texans are shit today guys. The only good news is they usually play about half a football game every Sunday and they are just now getting started. Maybe the second half will feature Texans players who are actually awake.

BS, NOT a touchback. He recovers it and comes OUT of the endzone....should be Colts ball on 1 NOT the 20. The explanation only works when the ball is fumbled OUT of the endzone.

Officials aren't reading the rulebook correctly. Fumble IN the endzone is LIVE ball. The Colts player came OUT.

Hervoyel
11-08-2009, 01:28 PM
The funny thing is, the people on the Eagles' board said that Moats was cut for fumbling.

Which is utter bullshit because Moats fumbled a couple of times in his rookie year and wasn't cut until the following season when he didn't have a single fumble. Moats had trouble staying healthy and a better option to back up Westbrook showed up.

If there is a way to screw yourself, the Texans will do it. Unbelievable.

So, the rule is it it's inside two minutes, you cannot challenge, it has to come from the booth. But if it's at the two minute warning, a team gets the time to decide if they want to challenge. JMO, but that rule needs to be changed. The two minute warning is an ********** TV time out. Teams should not be allowed to challenge once you get to the two minute warning. Again, JMO.

STILL BS...he got BOTH feet back in bounds prior to touching a LIVE ball in the endzone. IF he takes a knee = touchback, he comes out to the one, then steps out. Colts ball on the One.

Either he was ineligible to be the first man to touch it (penalty on Colts), or he's out on the one...the official ruling can't have it both ways.

Your correct sir. Lets go defense shut them down in the 2cd half. Come on team you can do this.

It's so weird watching the Texans DEFENSE pick the team up. Our offense
usually has that role. I feel good about the second half. We just have
a ton of BEASTS on defense, and the offense has FINALLY started
moving the ball.

I think everybody but Kubiak and Schaub knew thet they should hike the ball even if you just spike it. That had to be the bonehead move of the year. Can't review it if a play has been run. Just really stupid. Cost us a touchdown. Unfriggin believable. And on top of that it went to the 2 minute warning so Caldwell has all day to review it. I told my son that when they come back from commercial we will see a red flag.

Right, but if you hike it and score, Manning gets 2:30 and 3 timeouts to get it right back. If the ruling on the field is down by contact, that's not reviewable. I thought it was, and was thus screaming don't hike it. From that point of view it makes sense. Also, Bathea (I think) was out of bounds when he touched the ball before Powers recovered it. I think that means it should be our ball at the 2.

I have watched a lot of football. I have never seen a team fumble the ball on the one yard line...EVER. The Texans seem to do it at least twice a freaking season. I like it...it adds a NEW LEVEL OF PATHETIC to the franchise. Really fun to watch.

Kubes has to freaking hike the ball. If we don't have someone watching the reply upstairs, we ought to think about hiring someone. If we did that, maybe we would get a challenge right once in a while.

This team is just heartbreaking.

Kubiak costing the team points directly.

Maybe it wasn't Kubiak, maybe it was Matt who was confused. I don't understand why we let them challenge that basically on the goalline, it's not like you need all day to think what you need to do on the goalline...

Sigh...I just hope we can forget about that play once the game is over, otherwise I feel like that will cost us the game.

Checking in at halftime.

That has got to be one of the worst zebra outing I've ever seen, it's fairly obvious that one team is getting the homefield advantage.

Regardless of the abysmal zebra performance we've held The Manning to 13 points, not bad at all! Only problem is the offense, we HAVE to start making plays or The Manning will slowly carve us up.

I need more beer too :)

Adding to my frustration is the CBS control team in the bus, deciding to show us some freaking weird camera angles, such as the one on Kris Bown's FG.

Those guys must have tailgated before the game.

Everything about this game is making me seething mad.

1. We're just now jamming WRs at the line.

2. Nobody is isolated upon Dallas Clark and shadowing him on every play.

3. There's such a lack of commitment to our running game. We started off passing, passing, passing.

4. Not running up to the line and getting a play off, which cost us a TD. And whoever said "Yeah, but Manning gets the ball back with over 2 mins to go" is wrong. Because we could have held him (like we did, once they got it at the 20, by Pollard intercepting the pass).

Which means this might be a 13-10 game right now.

Going to my daughter's volleyball game now. Will have to watch 2nd half when I get home at about 4.

If we win this game, it will rank as one of the goofiest wins ever.

When you absolutely need to score and you're on the doorstep, there's nothing wrong with calling a timeout if the defense is showing you a confusing look or there's miscommunication between the qb and the sideline. I think many here are making too much of that. We armchair quarterbacks had the benefit of an immediate television replay. Schaub probably had no clue there was any doubt about the play because of the way everyone reacted, especially Moats. Nor did the coaches on the sideline. Hell, even the announcers didn't think it was a fumble until the replay.

The problem wasn't not snapping it, the problem was fumbling it in the first place.
