On the NFL Gameday show, during EVERY AJ highlight, Deion Sanders says,
"That's a MAN right there." When Rich Eisen talked about the trainers
having to hide Dre's helmet to prevent him from going back into the game,
Deion said, "'Cause he's a MAN, that's why."

Only one problem: the toilet paper wouldn't take crap from anyone.

More important than the cliches is how this effects his teammates. How could a player not want to step up and be like Andre? Along with Cushing, Ryans, Polland, DR and Studdard's passion, I see a fire starting to build in this team. I think the team motto should be "Solid blocks, Solid tackles. Hit somebody!"

Ok, he was coughing up blood, does that make him any more impressive for wanting to play? He is a player, that is what they are born to do.. it isn't that big a deal to me, he's always been that way. There have been other players in the league that have played with injuries during games, shoot, if I recall Jack Youngblood played with a broken leg.. What I am saying, there are certain guys who are a different breed of players, AJ is one of those guys, so when he says something like that, it doesn't make me think any more highly of the guy.. it is who he is !!

Nowadays, in the Nancy Football League, you hardly see that type of player anymore. The days of Jack Youngblood and Ronnie Lott are gone. This is the era of prima donnas and puh ces!

Yes, but the NFL is much to blame as well. Like you said, the Nancy Football League is due to rule changes going above and beyond to protect the players.

Heck, back in the day the players didn't get paid jack, comparatively speaking, but still put themselves at risk for the love of the game. There are still a few that play the right way, but they're diminishing as the years go by.

Like y'all, I'm old school. Let'em eat!

The two bolds contradict each other.

AJ is THE BEST at his position right now. Obviously not many can say that. And add to that the fact that he's tough, soft-spoken, not prone to showboating and me-first crap, and leads through his actions, and he's up there with Earl as one of Houston's greatest athletes.

It is a big deal, man, because he's a Houston Texan. :cowboy1: :texflag:

Youngblood had a non-displaced fibula fx. Not exactly a broken femur or tibia. It's a non weight bearing bone that only has muscle attachments. Sure it hurt, but not exactly the "he played with a ********in broken leg" they keep playing on NFL films.

Receiver Andre Johnson participated fully in the Texans practice Thursday, showing no ill-effects from the lung bruise he suffered against the 49ers and leaving little about his being ready to play against the Buffalo Bills Sunday.

“He took pretty close to all the reps he normally takes and he didn’t have any problems,” Kubiak said of Johnson. “It’s not Sunday yet, but I was very encouraged.”

Johnson had previously insisted nothing was going to keep him out of the game.

The only players who didn’t participate were linebacker Brian Cushing (foot), defensive tackle Tim Bulman (bruised ribs) and free safety Eugene Wilson (groin). This marks the third week that Cushing hasn’t worked out on Wednesday or Thursday, the Texans' most important practice days, but it hasn’t affected his play in either of the last two games. Both Bulman and Wilson were hurt against San Francisco.

Kubiak said he hoped the three of them would get some reps Friday.

Save for the temperature, Kubiak ordered up perfect conditions for the Texans’ practice as they prepare to visit Buffalo. It was wet and blustery, but at 82 degrees – with a 90-degree heat index – it didn’t really remind anyone of western New York in November.

“This was good for us,” Kubiak said. “We need to be able to handle this, and we got in some good work.”

The Thursday afternoon temperature in Buffalo, under cloudy skies, was a relatively balmy 53. Rain factors into the Sunday forecast.

Grey just means the person who tried to give you rep did not have sufficient rep yet to grant it. You get the comment but not any points.
