So, we got Oakland coming up next. It's our last home game before that road trip of four of the next five on the road. Will we be 2-2 or 1-3 heading into that road trip?

We'll have Arizona, Cincinnati, Buffalo and Indy on the road after Oakland. SanFan at home in the middle.

Before the bye week, after the Indy road game, I'm predicting a 3-6 or 4-5 record. If our defense still sucks by the time we get to Indy the season is over with.

We'll be 2-2. I've hired Tanya Harding's people to go to Oakland and make all their runningbacks cry.

=======================

Seriously, as down as the Texans must be, I don't think the Raiders have much at all going for them on either side of the ball. Texans have a little payback for the Raiders and should have a little payback to the fans before hitting the road.

For the Texans to open at 9.5 point favorites against anyone says volumes about the state of the Raiders.

1-3.

Expectations are low. Expect this to be Darren McFadden's coming out party. I predict he'll have 150 yards and 3 TDs. Michael Bush will chip in 60 or so yards and a TD.

Flip a coin. The Texans are as random as a six sided die. Good defense good offense? Bad defense bad offense? Good offense bad defense? Bad offense good defense.

The Texans are ANYTHING but consistent. Like i said, flip a coin.

1-3 cause we can't pressure with our front 7 if we were trying to penetrate a wet paper back which makes our bad secondary look even WORSE.

Prepare for run right till we can find a way to stop it.

Honestly, does it matter?

This team isn't going anywhere with the type of defense they've fielded this season. 2-2, 1-3, who cares? Once the defense can prove they're NFL worthy, I might begin to care. Until then, meh!

To be honest...I think you guys will win this one. The way JaMunchies Ruffels is playing atm, I expect a blow out. This guy is a bust, I think even Cable knows he's a bust...but we all know the only Head Coach the Raiders have is Davis, and since Davis has a man-crush on Mr. Fatty, I doubt he'll be benched anytime soon. And if he is, good ol' Davis will have a press conference most likely blaming the pick of JaOff-The-Marc Russell on Kiffen:brickwall:.

I'm not really ready to discuss this game yet, but any offense in the league can score points on us right now. It doesn't matter who the QB is.

Sad, but true. Good post.

Or is it? Is Super Mario trolling us, or simply speaking his mind? Is he right or wrong? Does a bear **** in the woods or sometimes in the river? Let's ALL be random. We are the Houston Randoms and there is no telling what we can do from day to day. :)

I think we will be at a 2-2 record after next week. Hopefuly Slaton will be able to run all over the raiders. After getting more than 6 yards a carry against the jags he can get some td's and get his confidence back. Saying that if slaton is running like he should be then the play action will work. In that case i see it as a blow out if our defense can stop McFadden, which is no MJD, Chris Johnson, or Thomas Jones.

I personally think McFadden is a little overrated, and that if we played Bush, we would have a better chance at winning the game. That being said, HOU-TEX, the only way the Raiders could possibly win this game is if your D does not even show up on the field. The Big Man can chuck balls down the middle like no other...but thats about it. DHB should of never been our 1st pick, we could of easily gotten him in the 2nd round. He's still a rook so I'll give him time, but he is missing some catchable balls.

I am the type of guy that says anything can happen come gameday, but in this case, I am 100% sure that the Texans will come out on top.

Bwahahaha!!! That's funny Kulluminatii. Darren McFadden and Micheal Bush are licking there chops right now. They know that the Texans can't stop them. The defense will make Russell look like Peyton Manning on Sunday. I have no confidence in this team. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if the Raiders walked all over the Texans. It's totally possible.

Why the hell would you guys throw the ball? Just run it every single play. Or throw it out of bounds on 1st and 2nd down then run it on 3rd and long - it seems to work for everyone else.

I see what you guys are doing, you are letting yourselves down now so that when you guys do win...it will feel that much better...I'm onto you guys:cowboy1:.

Seriously though, there are a lot of similarities between the two teams. The Raiders have a solid D, but a craptastic O. Whereas it is flipped when talking about the Texans. Coaching-wise, I believe you guys have us beat. You guys have quite a number of coaches while all we got is Al Davis. I would LOVE to have an 8-8 season right now, its been 6 long years since we have won more then 5 games.

Believe it or not, the Texans are in the better position to win the game. Whether the D decides to step it up and man-handle an already weak offense...thats up to them.

At the rate our D is going. McFadden, Bush and Fargas will all have runs of 60 or more.

I have '0' confidence this team can win any game with the defense we've fielded this season.

I should've stayed at the lake house fishing instead of coming back Saturday night.

Does it really matter if it is 2-2 or 1-3? Beating Oakland and continuing to get whipped by the better teams in the league gets old and it doesn't get you into the playoffs. Jury is still out on TN being a "good team' this year. So far they aren't very good.

I do think that Tennessee is better than jacksonville. Plus it was in their house.

So we won a game we should have lost and lost a game we should have won. This team is inconsistent and erratic and we'll have this all year. I don't buy the prognostications of 3-6 or 2-7 going into Indy. We have enough talent to upend ARZ, CIN, or BUF when they aren't looking. I don't see us being any better than 8-8 though.

I asked myself before the season if I would accept another 8-8 year. I said at the time that I could, as long as I saw progress. I don't think I can. There's too much regression alongside the positive steps. They don't seem to be noticing the glaring problems that have been plaguing this team for years.

I am not an overwhelmingly negative guy when it comes to sports. I can find the glimmer of positivity and try to build on it. But right now this team looks stagnant. I don't understand it with Kubiak, and I was never one of those calling for him to be fired. Older coaches can sometimes become wed to a system and continue to flog it when the league has passed them by. It's odd for a young and unproven coach to marry himself to a philosophy though. It seems like one should find something that works before latching on and tying your job to it.

Maybe it's the Aggie in him.

The Raider fan is correct, the Texans should win this game with ease.

Now if Oakland had kept Jeff Garcia and actually given him a shot to play, they could actually have been a decent team. But that qb is just awful...beyond awful.

I think we enjoy a nice win this week, but after that is a whole different story...

1-3. Raiders running game "miraculously" gets healthy against the Texan's "defense".

I'm expecting them to give up at least one 50 yard play.

Am I hoping for 2-2? Sure. Do I think it will make any difference in terms of the season? Nope.

I don't think as Vinny said 1-3 or 2-2 will really matter when it comes to the big picture. Indy is in the drivers seat to take the south barring a season ending injury to Peyton. There will not be a wildcard team from the AFC south. Look at the north. At least 1 wildcard will come from that division. Baltimore, Pittsburgh or Cincy. Then take a look at the east. The other wildcard will come from there. Jets, Patriots and Buffalo. San Diego will take the west and no wildcard will come from there even with Denver sitting at 3-0.

So to me it looks really grim for the Texans. They would have to take the division and I just don't see even the most optomistic fan believing that. The upcoming schedule prior to the bye is brutal. Here is the remaining schedule. Call it like you see it.

Sun. 4 RAIDERS
Sun. 11 @ Cardinals
Sun. 18 @ Bengals
Sun. 25 49ERS
Sun. 1 @ Bills
Sun. 8 @ Colts

Mon. 23 TITANS
Sun. 29 COLTS
Sun. 6 @ Jaguars
Sun. 13 SEAHAWKS

We heard that last week from the Jags fan and that did not work out too well.:foottap:

I do think we will beat the raiders this week though and 2-2 is a BIG differnce from 1-3!
We always play better football in the second half of the season so having a decent record at the begining is going to help us out a lot if we have a shot(which I still beliebe we do).

The smart ass in me says that Darren McFadden will have at least one 175 yard TD run. Don't ask me how it's possible, I don't know I just have that funny feeling.

However I just can't picture life after losing to the Raiders at home so I'm going to say 2-2 after sunday. If I were to think they were going to lose I would go ahead and jump in front of a bus and end it all now.

I live in Vegas and was thinking about attending the Arizona game, but now I don't know if I could stand the humiliation of a huge loss in person around 70,000 AZ fans. Maybe I will go, but I could wear my Andre Johnson Battle Red Jersey so that I wouldn't stand out!!!!!!!!!!
