another week, another loss for the Dolphins. same story.
did a pretty good job for 3 quarters controlling the clock by running the ball and staying on the field for long drives. but, nothing to show for it. just a few field goals.
Pennington got hurt, Chad Henne came in, and started off pretty swell. this was when the game was tied 3-3. then Miami took the lead 6-3. then San Diego scored. and scored. and scored. Miami can't play from behind.
Ted Ginn dropped three first down passes. there were several false starts (two on WR's). a few dropped interceptions. basically the kinds of mistakes the team avoided last year.
big play after big play by the Chargers' offense, just like last week against the Colts. the defense can't get off the field on third down. the secondary is abysmal. but it's kinda young. KINDA. not young enough to be making these mistakes, though.
Ronnie Brown looked awesome. the Wildcat is at good as it's ever been. unfortunately, the first drive of the game, a 90 yard clock-raper ended with a Brown fumble out of the endzone on the 1-yard line. your 2009 Miami Dolphins, ladies and gentlemen!
Chad Henne had a pick-six. that sucked. but otherwise, he looked decent. he had one play where he threw the ball three or four yards beyond the line of scrimmage, which was hysterical. Pennington may be out for a bit so i'm expecting him to start next week against Buffalo.
here's some of the QB's that Miami has to face in the first 8 games: Matt Ryan, Peyton Manning, Philip Rivers, Trent Edwards, Mark Sanchez, Drew Brees, Sanchez, and Tom Brady. not an easy task for a defense like this one.
oh well. on to the next game.
