A conflict with the Jets new stadium is making them look for a new location this year.
NEW YORK (Ticker) - The NFL draft will be changing venues after 10 years at Madison Square Garden.

Citing a dispute with Cablevision, which owns the building and opposes the building of a new stadium for the New York Jets on the West Side of Manhattan, the league will seek a different location for its draft in 2005.

"Is the dispute over the Jets stadium an issue or a factor? Our comment is 'Yes, it's a factor,'" NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told the New York Times on Thursday. "The contract we have with the Garden is up.

It'd be nice if they would move it from city to city and get out of this NY thing. I realize it's the biggest media market and all but it sure would be fun to have it in different cities and with planning they could arrange the media needs.

"A possible location for this year's draft include Philadelphia, which hosted the first draft in 1936."
The above is from the link in this thread, so if they are considering Philly,
what's to prevent them from having it most anyplace, and not just in EST.
Why not begin an annual rotation like the SB ? Its has become a very, very
big event for those real fans like all of us on the Board who need a few NFL events like the College Draft to get us thru the offseason. Its a long pull from the end of the season to Summer Camp in August !

It would be cool to have it in the losing Super Bowl team's city.
