plunkett and flores look like plastic surgery did them well ( I honestly don't know if they had surgery but they look younger than I remember seeing them as a kid)
:tease:

get to see how if the saints rushing attack was THAT good or the Texan defense was THAT bad (thinking it was the latter at least for that game)

shockey had 3 or so catches

Wolf
08-29-2009, 03:24 PM
raiders had two good plays that gained about 46 yards

then russell fumbled ..held the ball too long on that and saints made a good defensive play and slapped the ball out of his hands

I'd take Brees out. He's already sharp.

I agree with this actually. Nothing left to prove here, and even if the idea is for him to get game experience against another team, this hardly qualifies.

I'm obviously biased... but the slowmo replay looked like at least a couple of full steps with possession

Anyone really think the Saints defense is this good or is it a product of the preseason? I'm having a fantasy draft later and might be looking for a late round steal.

It's about as many times as you hear Joel Myers say "too much time" :hairpull:

I thought the same thing - two full steps with the ball firmly in the grasp. Then he tries to bring it into his body and self-combusts.

I'd say give it up for the Saints. From watching them last week, and this week, they are going to be a team to watch this season.

Saints almost had another td on hail mary

I can't help but think I would be pissed if this was against the Texans and the Saints were still throwing hail mary's right at halftime

45-0 saints

I am not understanding why the Saints continue to go for it on 4th down (just threw a TD on 4th and 6)

I know it is the defenses job to stop the people but saints are still slinging it..

I guess the Saints know what their kickers can do but need to evaluate the offensive players??

not saying I agree with it, but I understand. After watching the season dissolve last year because we couldn't convert 4th and short and it cost us more than one game - I can see why the coaching staff would want to take advantage of working plays for those situation when the opportunity arises

Drew Brees was my first pick for my FF team. That's looking decent right now.

And to think San Diego chose to keep Rivers over Brees. Rivers is good but he is no Drew Brees. Then to think Miami passed on him in free agency and the Saints got him. I know Brees was coming off an injury at the time but man did it ever work out for the Saints. You just don't see a qb of Brees caliber in free agency very often and in his prime no doubt. The whole scenerio may have cost San Diego a Super Bowl.

Exactly. If we're going to operate on the assumption that the preseason scores don't really count, then we can't also complain when the team ignores the score and focuses on getting more repetitions in certain situations instead.

For Joey Harrington and Skyler Green, along with pretty much everyone else on the field at that point, it wasn't 38-0. It was simply 4th down and 6 and we absolutely have to score right here. Run the play and make it happen.

The coaches have less than a week until they have to give twenty something players their walking papers and I imagine they want as much film on putting these bubble guys in pressure situations as they can possibly evaluate.
