Nice.... ;)

http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/

Now that NFL teams are trying to defray the evaporation of advertising revenues from the likes of the car companies, the financial services industry, and Budweiser, they’ll necessarily be opening the door to overtures from businesses with which the NFL wisely won’t want to do business, under any circumstances.

And one such company already is knocking. (With a fist. We think.)

Zero Tolerance Entertainment, which makes and markets adult videos, claims that it has approached the Houston Texans regarding the availability of marketing space.

Last week, the Texans acknowledged that they are seeking to take advantage of the new rule that allows NFL teams to allow corporate logos and/or messages to infiltrate the official team practice jerseys.

In a press release circulated by Scott Stein, the company’s director of marketing, Zero Tolerance claimed that an offer involving “several zeros” was made to the Texans.

“Every team in the league starts the season by saying, that they’ll have Zero Tolerance for losing,” the press release states. “While our offer may not be taken seriously, there is some undeniable synergy between the NFL and the name of our company.”

It’s not that the offer won’t be taken seriously. After all, the NFL and its 32 franchises are trying desperately in a down economy to raise money through a new universe of revenue streams. The problem is that the Texans at best will use the offer to leverage someone else into offering more money, since the consequences of doing business with an adult entertainment company would offset any profits arising from such a deal.

Still, teams like the Texans should brace themselves for an onslaught of offers from business interests anxious to take advantage of the availability of advertising space that the traditional advertisers don’t have the money to buy.

It's a total non-story of course. Florio gets bored easily for a guy who has 32 teams to cover.

Yeah, I'm not seeing McNair who is all about being classy etc, taking money from the adult film industry.......

If any team did allow this they must be desperate for money because I suspect that there would be a backlash by certain segments of society.

#1 I doubt there would be a huge backlash from this city, there is a porn shop on every street here.

#2 Advertising on jerseys is for the other football

#3 BWAAAAHAHAhahahahahahaa!!!!!!

#4 Either it's all okay or none of it is.

#5 I guess it's not as involved as baseball is with penis pills but football certainly shows those commercials left and right. How is it okay to artificially inflate your junk but not to use it?

#6 This denial from a sport who takes time outs to trot 60 or so LOVELY young ladies out to dress up scantily and gyrate for a bunch of drunk dudes.

Yup. I'll never forget that day when they had that "wardrobe malfunction", in the very next commercial they talking about erections lasting longer than for 4 hours.

(Now that's funny I don't care who you are)

Ugh the wardrobe malfunction....to quote Chief Wiggum: "STOP! In the name of American squeamishness!"

Yeah, and the 4 hour erection thing...geez, I think I'm pretty well in shape and healthy but sex for 4 freaking hours? No thanks, I wouldn't wish that kind of soreness on anyone's genitals. Who needs that kind of...sustaining? elderly male pornstars?

This is not the kind of thing I want the Texans attracting but thought this was funny:

The NFL now allows individual teams to sell advertising space on their practice jerseys, and the Houston Texans have made it known that they'd like to take advantage of the new policy. For the right amount, a company could rent the space on Andre Johnson's(notes) chest while he practices.

One company has stepped up to the plate and made an offer. That company is Zero Tolerance Entertainment (that link goes to their Wikipedia entry, but there's still naughty language there), which makes and distributes hardcore pornography.

Why would a porno company need to advertise anyway? Doesn't porn sort of sell itself? It's not like a Swiffer WetJet, where you first have to convince someone that they need one. If someone needs some porn, they're already well aware of it.

What I really want to know is who is actually paying for pornography in this day and age anyway? It's everywhere online without charge and if you assembled a pile of printed pictures that you aquired free of charge through various search engines and the porn companies own online advertising you would probably be able to fill the Grand Canyon with them. Even accounting for all the possible variations and varieties of sex that exist there's more free porn on any subject you can imagine than most people would likely ever want to see.

It has that whole "Selling ice to eskimos" vibe going on about it.

Now this is an interesting question. Ive always wondered who goes to see pornographic movies inside the video stores. Now thats nasty.

And who buys the porno magazines they sell at the airport? Nothing like a little nudity while you are sitting sandwhiched between two other passengers on an airplane. Creepy

I think the idea would be bad because it might distract our players on plays or give guys an excuse to actually go to open practices...at first I thought they wanted Texan players to be in porn films like Connor Barwin or Brian Cushing but this was something else!

It really is a clever move for the marketing department, it cost nothing and they get free advertising because the story gets bounced off media outlets. Like I said clever and effective.

Unlike some of the older, more callused hands on this site I had no idea what Zero Tolerance entertainment was until now.
