From Cnnsi.com:

Cornerback Chris McAlister of the Baltimore Ravens also pulled out of the Pro Bowl due to injury and was replaced by cornerback Patrick Surtain of the Miami Dolphins.

Why do we care about this you ask? Here is why:

Patrick Surtain:
Games: 15
Int's: 4
Yds: 2
Lng: 2
TD: 0
FF: 0
PDef: 11
Sack: 1
Tack: 40
Solo: 36
Ast: 18

Dunta Robinson:
Games: 16
Int's: 6
Yds: 146
Lng: 61
TD: 0
FF: 3
PDef: 19
Sack: 3
Tack: 73
Solo: 60
Ast: 14

Its a sad, sad world.

Surtain's been there before. Are they going by past performance in previous years?
The total lack of respect for what Dunta Robinson has done his first year is just puzzling. I would really like to hear their explanation for ignoring him.

He is a rookie on a mediocre team, so he goes somewhat unnoticed.

To update 84's comparison:

Nate Clements:
Games: 16
Int's: 6
Yds: 77
Lng: 35
TD: 0
FF: 5
PDef: 14
Sack: .5
Tack: 73
Solo: 53
Ast: 20

As an aside, Clements forced 5 fumbles as a defender (2 of which were recovered) but coughed up the ball 3 times as a KR/PR (2 of which became turnovers).

Well, Nate Clements at least has better stats than Surtain.
Surtain seemed to me to be chosen for the name recognition (see Champ Bailey).
