Are we well under the cap to re-sign our own players and make a run at a few marquee free agents? Or do we boderline the cap so much that we would only be able to re-sign our own players and this year's draft picks?idonno:

we are borderline. Though its possible with some cap management that we may be able to sign a Marquee FA.

You may be aware, www.houstonprofoot.com has a section devoted to player cap figures. It seems to be the most detailed I'm aware of. The actual way the team pays bonus to player is only thing that throws accuracy off.

Here is a working link for HoustonProFootball. (http://www.houstonprofootball.com/)

aj's cap worksheet has been down for a while because he was unable to resolve the discrepancy between his numbers and John Clayton's after the signings of Smith, Walker and Wade. aj's worksheet was showing more cap room this last year than Clayton's. Hopefully that was because the Texans made some of their signing bonuses roster bonuses and did not pro-rate them--which potentially could free up more money this year.
