What Kubiak should have said:

Alex, our realistic goal is to win the Super Bowl. We have the best WR in football. The best DE in football. Emerging young stars on both sides of the ball. And an owner who is committed to building a championship franchise. It's my job to ensure that we reach that goal.If the head coach doesn't believe that winning the Super Bowl is realistic, how will the players ever feel that way? Show some confidence, Kubiak.

As an aside, Kubiak's hair is approaching Kiperesque hair height. Also, I love me some Alex Flanagan. Damn you, Comcast!

I thinkl that Kubiak said exactly what he needed to say. He is taking it a step at a time. Since we have never made the playoff our goal is to get there and see what happens when we do. I dont think he was showing a lack of confidence either, I would say he was just showing caution with his words to the public. And you should know by know, that's the way Kubes operates.

i agree with Kubiak's approach also, as he said once you get to the playoffs crazy things can happen.

Manhandled!!!!

I remember the game thread when Mario slung Lewis down. We went baah-zerk

Mario's interview with Casserly (http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80fc01c0&campaign=ec0009) is kinda interesting too

You can't win King of the prom if you don't go to the dance. I have no problems with his approach.

Can someone here clip that section of Mario slamming Jamal Lewis and put it in animated gif? I'm clueless when it comes to that stuff, but I'd really dig that.

It's interesting but kind of funny too. Casserly is not subtle about it. Let's start this interview off with me recalling everything that I went through to draft you. Yes, I drafted you. Yes, you are good, and I drafted you. What do you think about that, Mario?

Making the playoffs is and should be a goal. Nothing more nothing less. When we finally do that for the first time, anything beyond that is gravy. Besides as demonstrated in recent years, anybody in the post-season can get on a roll and win it all. Too many teams declare winning the SB their goal and then fail to get beyond the regular season.
