This is the dumb thing about tests for weed. Mary jane stays in your system for up to 30 days and many of these guys aren't pot heads but smoke occasionally, but it stays in their system so long they are made to look like loser pot heads...

We'll see if these ever get confirmed.

I just really have no idea how these prospects could be so dumb. They're preparing for the biggest moment in their life. The ramifications of testing positive far outweigh the "good" that comes about smoking. They're on the big stage now. Just so dumb not to stay away from that for a couple months (if not always).

If I were a prospect that took banned substances, you better believe I'd stay away from it right now. You have 100% chance of getting tested for all these things. I'd even stay away from parties where this stuff occured (most likely any house/apt. party they go to in college). It's only a matter a few months in your life, I'd prepare my butt off for the senior bowl, my pro day, the combine, private team workouts. Maybe I don't have "fun" for 3 months but at least I assure myself of the best possible chance to get drafted high and NOT go into the league with a red flag net to my name that my team and the commissioner pay attention too. :brickwall:

That's not what it's about.

These guys can't lay off the stuff for three months when they know they are gonna get tested at the combine?

A guy with that mentality has more problems than just the stuff he smokes.

I find it interesting these things come out just before the draft

Not to be a smartass or anything but when other time would you expect them to come out? It's not like the combine and the stringent drug testing that goes on there happens every month.

Nah man, no excuse for it. None at all. If they can't manage to stop smoking for this small amount of time for one of the most important moments of their lives, their freaking total dumb asses. Sorry, but I smoke and have no problems with others smoking really, but if I had a job that was that important where I had to stop just for a little bit to pass a test or get drafted higher in their case I wouldn't let my weed habit get in the way of that for one second.

Plus, weed is supposed to stay in your system for 30 days.It all depends on how much you smoke, how potent it is, and other factors as well. You can get weed out of your system in like two or three days and in some cases one day if you just go bananas on drinking water like crazy and letting it pass through your system. Obviously these fools weren't even smart enough to do that if they all failed and the reports are true. It's actually very simple to clean out your system.

I agree 100%. It takes a real immature fool to put smoking dope before Millions of dollars in a signing bonus.

They may have been betting on clearing their system using your techniques and it didn't work out.

If they were smart, they would have quit for a few months.

With steroids, it totally depends on the steroid you're taking. I had one friend who tested positive for steroids (and lost a USAPL bench press record) after being off of them for over a year. She had actually been given Deca for an arthritic hip condition and hadn't considered that Deca stays in the system a LOOOONG time when she went to compete. Strangely enough, I've heard that prohormones give you a positive steroid test for a long time after taking them even though they give you almost 0 benefit and it doesn't help that you can get prohormones over the counter. As an athlete, you've got to be very careful what you put in your system... and when you put it in there.

Then why would you do it all if that was to difficult for you to achieve? Hell you can even buy self tests and test yourself. They were obviously not sharp enough to think of that one either. I mean common sense just doesn't seem to work with many football players.

If they were smart, they would have quit for a few months.

Totally agreed. Why chance it at all? This is Millions of dollars here. They'd have plenty of time to get stoned after the combine and when their work outs are finished.

That sucks. But for football players none of them should be doing steroids and that is a big ordeal if you find out that certain players have, because you don't know how much that may have enhanced their performance and how well they can play without roids. Remember THE BOZ? He wasn't jack without the roids and hell Merriman wasn't the dominating beast on the field that he had been prior to his suspension when he won Defensive player of the year.
