View Full Version : Which Former Texans Player Do You Miss?

Which former Texans players do you miss the most? Who was your favorite to ever play for the Texans?

For me it has to be Jamie Sharper, Aaron Glenn, and most of all Robaire Smith and Gary Walker. All of these guys were an integral part of our D which produced two Pro Bowlers (Glenn and Walker).

On offense Domanick "Davis" Williams was one of my favorite former Texans player. Wish he were still with us healthy and ready to go.

Domanick Davis more than anyone by far. I'll always wonder how good he could have been had he been on another team that actually had good blocking.

Aaron Glenn would be the other name that comes to mind. He played well for us and we let him go a year to early. Him and Dunta really liked playing together as well.

Domanick Davis. A few years ago, he WAS the offense. AJ wasn't an elite receiver yet and you can make a case DD was the #1 receiver. He was what Reggie Bush wishes he could be.

It's too bad the LT to NO noise didn't come to fruition. It would have been great to see the Saints officially move Bush to slot receiver.

MOSES, MOSES, MOSES!! He could always light a fire in the Bullpen!

YES, I miss David Carr. Wish things had turned out differently for him and the Texans. He started this franchise with a lot of hopes and dreams, none of which were fullfilled. Lack of talent, wrong attitude, family and God before football, WHO KNOWS!! But, there were a hell of a lot of #8 jersey's in the stands the first few years. We ALL held him to a higher standard than he was able to meet. I'm not ashamed to say I miss him, but, my team is better without him.

Our original starting defense I have missed (one or two pieces at a time) since 2003.

Think about it. We've never had a better defense than the one we put on the field in 2002. The 2004 group allowed fewer points but the 2002 defense kept us in games we had no business being in and were constantly hung out to dry by that lousy offense.

Not to rag on you but he had a line and Steve Smith and RBs in Carolina and failed miserably. The guy just wasn't good or cut out to be a starting QB. They have moved much more in the right direction since then.

Yeah but I still wonder who was to blame...Capers for throwing him to the lions and his run run pass philosophy or bad team around him. By the time he got to Carolina he was shell shocked and they had just as many problems as we did.

Yes, and yes. Jason Simmons is the guy who had an awesome decleater on D-Rob's INT return in '04 as well (against the Raisers, I think?). Anyway, Jason Simmons is one of the guys I miss, not because he was some great player, but because he was a hard worker and always played his heart out when he got on the field. The team needs guys like that on the back end of the roster, IMO.

The other guy I miss is Kailee Wong, because he was a really cool guy in person. My wife and I met him once and chatted with him for a bit. He was a super cool guy and I've been a fan since.

Here's the INT return (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9Nl5NRIQ6g) against the Raiders I was referring to. Jason Simmons shows up at about 17 seconds.

Also, I think I'm confusing the games in my head. Glenn Earl made a great hit on Shockey in the end zone once.

There are players on the current roster I will miss when they eventually leave either through FA, trade, or retirement, but they're all Texan drafted at this point.
