A league source tells us that the Houston Texans have agreed to terms with tight end Joel Dreessen.

Dreessen, a three-year veteran, has accepted a three-year, $3.6 million contract.

He appeared in 16 games last year, starting three of them.

The bigger target at tight end, obviously, is Owen Daniels. The Texans have tendered the restricted free agent at the highest possible level, requiring any team that signs him to surrender a first-round and third-round draft choice.

I'm a big fan of this signing, he's an excellent Daniels clone. I have to check the number on the jersey every now and then to see if it's Dreessen or Daniels, so if I can mistake his play for Owen - he's worth re-signing IMO.

Yes! I think he will be more part of the offense next year. So the team can have more two TE sets.

I guess this means no James Casey?

I like Dressen though, he's a monster in person. He never seemed to stand out much, honestly that's probably a good thing.

If the Texans draft a TE it will be more of a blocking TE and hope he can catch and grow in that direction.

He was the key block on a couple of special teams touch downs last. Good soldier...cheap cap why not ?

Our Colorado State apartment remains strong.

For all of you doubting him, Dreessen is a good enough TE to start if Owen gets hurt.

Love the resigning. Good economical move that lets the FO do their job elsewhere.
