Portis said in Miami, "there's too much to get into," especially with places like South Beach and Fort Lauderdale.

"There's going to be people getting DUIs, people getting suspended, so I think coming out here is much nicer," he said. "[Being in Miami], I don't think it will have the same feel. They don't have any leis in Miami. They don't have flower shorts to walk around in."

Goofey Redskin Clinton Portis has one of the more surprising and amusing comments for keeping the game in the Hawaiin location away from all of the
temptations of a "sin city" like Miami. Hey, you should know Clinton, you played your college ball at "the U".
BTW, please grow up so that you have enough self-discipline to take care of yourself like most adults do instead of expecting supervision by the league to baby-sit you.

Portis never said he was the one worried about getting into trouble or that he needed supervision by the league......he said he was worried about other players. He went to school there so he knows all about that area as do I since I lived there for awhile. Trouble finds you easy there if you're not careful. I actually agree with what he said....this could be the Las Vegas NBA all-star weekend all over again.

Well seriously while Miami is nice would you rather have a free week to Hawaii or to Miami?

That's a no-brainer.

Hawaii. That's like asking if I'd rather have filet mignon or a big mac.

Years ago I was in Hawaii for a Pro Bowl..many years ago...but I would see the players all over town sight seeing, at the beach. It sure didn't seem like they practiced very much. And at night the same. You'd see them out clubbing.

Don't know if they do the same now but back then it was just a vacation with a little practice and oh yea a game thrown in there.

It's just as easy to get into trouble on the island as it is on the mainland.

True. But if you hear "Book 'em, Danno" while wearing your grass skirt, Dog the Bounty Hunger or not, you better look out to make sure you don't get lei'd while in the clink.

Or, a Hawaiian themed version of Lawrence's line in Office Space"

"Peter... watch out for your poi-hole, bud."

If they hear book em they better call in "Ghost Hunters" cause Jack Lord has been dead for a long time. I use to love that show..not sure I can watch it now after thinking about your post! :)

And people here in DFW are thinking the Pro Bowl will be in Arlington in 2011. Seriously, Hawaii or Arlington. Hard choice.

If the NBA can have their allstar week in Vegas without problems, then I think the NFL should be able to handle Miami.

At least fans would be able to go if it were in the cont. states

I've read so many different things about the Pro Bowl that I don't know anymore which is accurate or not.

I have read some stories that said that the game will be played in the SB city the week before the SB. In that case it would be in Arlington in 2011.

I've read numerous stories on players complaining about moving the game from Hawaii (well DUH!!).

I personally don't think they should move the game period! Keep it in Hawaii and keep it after the SB.

Bear in mind...the metroplex IS where Michael Irvin was abled to buy crack rocks the size of baseballs, and was able to show up in court in the summer wearing a fur in July and was able to seriously ask a cop "Do you know who I am?"
The Metroplex is the SAME place where Leon Lett was able to get busted with a GARBAGE bag full of weed in his trunk and get PROBATION (while playing) and then got a prison sentence the 3rd time he was caught (as his playing days were behind him).
Translation...The Cowboys aren't the only ones in Dallas gettin' high if they think they have a shot at the pro-bowl.

This whole Pro Bowl move in general is purely stupid. Players don't want to jack up their contracts and get hurt. With the new date there will be 4 top teams without players there I'm sure...SB and the other conference teams still healing. You have watered down lineups with guys dropping out already. Their one saving grace is taking family, friends, teammates, etc to Hawaii. The game is useless.

I've been to both and Miami certainly does not have the physical beauty of Hawaii. Few places (if any) in the world do. But to suggest that Miami, especially when you centerpeice the social scene of South Beach, is an
unattractive location is silly. Afterall that's why its one of the most popular SB sites.

Dallas? I don't want you goin' to Dallas at all. That place is crawlin' with crack-heads and debutantes, and half of 'em play for the Cowboys.
