INDIANAPOLIS -- Jim Caldwell wants to build on Tony Dungy's success, not be a carbon copy of his former boss.

Jim Caldwell discusses his goals as the Colts new coach and shares his thoughts on Tony Dungy.
Caldwell, 53, was introduced Tuesday by the Colts as Dungy's replacement.

The move was not a surprise: The Colts announced their succession plan last year when Caldwell was elevated to associate head coach.

Smart move to promote from within..there won't be any transition other than a new guy with title "head coach"...

Can't replace Coach Dungy though.

Caldwell is a great guy and has been a great coach for a while.

I don't think there will be much of a drop off for the Colts.

That being said, next year will be the Texans best shot yet at a playoff spot, even if the Titans finish ahead of us.

As long as they have Peyton they have the main puzzle piece to success...

I didn't realize Coach Dungy was only 53.

His retirement press conference was touching. He clearly wants to help young men in both Tampa and Indy who are troubled.
