I want to say that we are going to come out and play mistake free, but, we have had so many. Im sure that we will cut down on mistakes and im looking for our defense to step up and get a couple turn overs.

Lions- less than that (hopefully)

If our d- cant sop the lions offense we got major problems. Right now I wonder if they could stop the pope in a wheelchair if they needed to.( not if Petey is guarding him)

I figure the Texans finally get the offense on track (4TDs 3FGs), the Lions pick up a couple of easy TDs on continued blown assignments (+ a couple of FGs when the D steps up)

..color me a little more optimistic THIS week.

Hey it worked with last weeks prediction.
I think the Lions have a very hard time putting up that many points with their backup QB and no starting WR's now that Roy Williams has been traded to the Boys and Calvin Johnson is hurt.

We win, and win big in this one. 31-10 Texans. Big day for Schaub, and some solid yards for Green, and another big run for Slaton.

Mario's sack-train continues as well.

I don't think we dominate but I do think we'll win. Which is exactly what I said for Atlanta last year.....

Brave of you. We've never beaten the Lions, Bengals, or for that matter the Vikings. I'm not certain but I don't think we've ever defeated a winless team to keep them winless either.

If we do what we're supposed to do against Detroit then I'll think of Cincinnati. I won't even start thinking about the Vikings until we've played the Detroit and Cincinnati game.

Houston offense: 362 yds per game, 114 rushing, 248 passing, 22 points a game
Detroit defense gives: 421 yds per game, 171 rushing, 250 passing, 31 points a game

Detroit offense: 252 yds per game, 77 rushing, 175 passing, 15 points a game
Houston defense gives: 341 yds per game, 131 rushing, 210 passing, 31 points a game

From the numbers it would seem our offense will do very well as will Detroitís offense do better than normal. That is, if you go strictly by the numbers. The numbers also say we will outscore them.

Whenever I get optimistic about winning a game we lose. By being pessimistic I try to get it to come back the other way and help us win.

I'll say da Texans 138 and da Lions 3, and that's only because our great coach Kubiak feels sorry for dem Lions at the end and let's em score. Da Texans.

That's the 64-dollar question ain't it.
It may not look like it but this is a significant test for Kubiak's Kids.
During T/C, Kubiak - and the team leaders too - said anything less than making the playoffs would make this year a disappointment.
Well, playoff teams win the games they're supposed to win - convincingly.
The spread is ten (at least it was a couple of days ago).
We're at home. The Lions are in disarray. If we let them keep it close.... if we don't send them home with a double-digit loss, that will tell me we're still not playoff ready.

Regarding the final score; I don't think that we'll win by more than 14-17 even if we're pushing them up and down the field. Kubiak is kinda old school in that he belongs to the "let's not embarrass the other guys" school of thought and will probably call off the dogs if we're up big in the second half.

I'm thinking 31-17 Texans.
Oh wait, its Richard Smith's defense... they can't hold anyone under 30 so it'll be 45-30.

Us/Texans - a lotta points
Them/Lions- just a few

As bad as the Lions are I can't see us shutting them out just because we arent that good on defense. I can see our offense scoring at will but our defense will give the Lions a td or 2. I see the Texans winning by 2 td's or more.

Werent the Cowpies winless coming into the first game that ever counter for the Texans ? .... They also left winless.
