AndreJ

I think that's a good decision

shinerbock_girl
12-19-2004, 02:52 PM
See we don't even have a FG kicker we can rely on.

AndreJ
12-19-2004, 02:52 PM
You can't rely on anyone to make one from that long in that weather.

OzzO
12-19-2004, 02:53 PM
So, 4th on the 30... thinking about a punt... would ya punt with chance of rolling into endzone, or go for it
...guess there's the answer.

Biggest stat of the day is ZERO turnovers from Carr on the road.

Good game....ugly, but good.

AndreJ
12-19-2004, 02:58 PM
damn only five more yards and DD would have had another 100 yd rushing day. Still happy though

My take on davis has been that you can't hand him the ball in the 4th quarter and expect him to make a play that wins you football games. For today, at least i am wrong.

Texans look they will win. :bouncey: :bouncey: :bouncey:

AndreJ
12-19-2004, 02:59 PM
O-Line stepped up since Carr had his hissy fit in the third.

OzzO
12-19-2004, 02:59 PM
I love DD as well.... but if the coach's plan is smashmouth football..... either it's a stronger full season RB or it's a much improved O-line.

Gametime baby!!!!!!!!!! DD for president. Dont tell me we need another back! :jumpbanan

I AGREE....Give the man room and he'll make a play....I say keep him...He knows how to play Texans football, let him grow!!!!!!

Nice run by DD. That was one of the best play fakes I've ever seen by Carr. It definately faked me out!!! Should be a nice week on the message boards..thank God!

Hervoyel
12-19-2004, 02:59 PM
Well, I guess that's 6 wins. Early I know and against anyone but the Bears that would be a foolish thing to say but we've all been watching their offense and so I don't think that they're much of a threat to drive twice on us.

TexSon
12-19-2004, 02:59 PM
It sure is a nice sight to see when our running game is clicking...

Carr also did not make bunches of plays, but 3 or 4 plays were enough to put the team in position to win.

I just heard on the post game show that Bradford drew the 15 yard Celebration penalty because he threw the ball and hit a Bears fan right in the face as he was attempting to spike the ball against the wall.

lol: Lmao now that is funny, take that chicago. I can only imagine how hard that ball was in the cold weather and did you see how hard he launched it? That had to hurt.

We will be 8-8 huh?

Ok, until the numbers just say it isn't possible I'm going with you guys on this. That makes next week's game in Jacksonville the latest "BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR!" though.

It's a gut check game on the road against the Jags who are contending with us for the official AFC South "team on the rise". The winner gets the inside track to finishing second and the loser gets... Well, the loser is still just a loser.

Texans 8-8 can happen.

Remember that the Jags have been playing pretty good lately...I'm afraid of that game and on their home field advantage!!!!!

Even if we lose, we spanked them real good when they come to our home stadium so there is no way of saying they are better or we are better.

Great win by the D, the Offense is still horrible.

Our O line just does not inspire confidence. (As I beat another dead horse.)

NoBullTexan
12-19-2004, 08:16 PM
The O-line is not a dead horse issue by any means. With a better coach, and new faces at Center and Right Guard, you would be surprised at the horses we would have on an updated O-line!

NoBullTexan
12-19-2004, 08:21 PM
I say we beat Cleveland, but lose to a fast improving Jax team to end up 7-9, which is what some of us were saying would be a good year at the start of the season. Now I am saying we under performed. How strange.

I've never been colder. Carr started off colder, but warmed up nicely. For a while I thought the temp would be higher than the score. So much for Bear Weather, pfft! Bear weather my frozen rump!! I think the Texan fans there tolerated the weather better than the Bears fans due to our victory. Serious fans "down ober by dare", and brutal hecklers, but some goof showed up in a Packer coat and they went after him even worse. It was a great time and great win for our Texans. For as bad as our o-line played Chicago's was even worse.
