View Full Version : Defense played best game without Foreman, Coleman

If it was last year, certainly in 2002 we would be happy with yesterdays game
in total. But not this year - moral victories fall short of the mark. But there is
a silver lining. Considering the competition, the D played its best game of the
year. Some things were different yesterday than in other games this year: we had 2 "substitutes" playing @ FS & ILB. Maybe our depth is better than
we realized, or maybe those 2 starters just aren't that effective ? Another factor - Peek saw more playing time. How much difference did that make ?
But the D played a very strong game. Very impressive.

I don't want to see Foreman come back. I think he's too big a liability on pass coverage.

I don't really see Coleman as an upgrade over McCree. I don't think we lost much there. Foreman has been a liability in the front 7 for a while.

I think our secondary is underrated because people just look at TD's given up but considering we have no pass rush they have done a good job. Most people know what I think of Foreman. I'm not shocked we didn't have a drop-off when he went out. Wong took some bad angles when he was in there at times....but heck, we get that out of Foreman.
