View Full Version : Jay Cutler diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes
Unfortunate for the young signal caller, but shouldn't hamper his playing career I wouldn't think as long as it's well managed. An interesting case in a high profile athlete because it exemplifies a common misconception that type 1 diabetes presents only in childhood, ie. type 1 = juvenile diabetes, type 2 = adult-onset, when that's not always the case.

Hope all is well for him and I'm sure it won't affect his abilities on the field. If anything, it could strengthen his resolve.

I hope it doesn't affect his playing career any. He looks like he'll be a good QB as he continues to develop.
Is this the same thing that Adam Morrison has?

Carry on Jay. It won;t ne easy.
Not the same profession but Bret Michaels of Poison has diabetes and takes shots daily...he said people often think he's doing drugs when he's actually taking his insulin.

I hear Clemens takes insulin too... :stirpot:
Just kidding, sure hope this doesn't effect Jay's life very much. Hope he can keep it under control. I think he can be a very good QB in the league.

I'm sure he can't wait to play in Philly or somewhere comparable and have them throw Twinkies at him, being the kind, understanding human beings that Philly fans are.
