I wonder if Dominique realizes the burden he bears following greats such as Stacey Mack and Vernand Morencey...

I like Slaton with #20. It happens to be the same number I wore playing football growing up in honor of Earl Campbell's college number.

Brown took McKinney's #76.

I guess that answers the question of whether Kailee Wong or Steve McKinney would ever have their jerseys hung from the rafters at Reliant....

Yes! That's the number I wanted for him. I am so rockin' his jersey once it comes out.

I don't have a problem with any of the rooks numbers. I'm also glad Okam number is 79, I think 97 is such a ugly number, and shouldn't be worn by our future pro-bowl NT. ;)

Do league rules allow a guard to wear #97?

(Yes, Okam played DT at Texas. I'm just saying...)

Why do we keep getting scrubs in Houston who think they are worthy of wearing #34?

But in general, people wearing 34 have some big shoes to fill in Houston. It would be nice to have a Texan make the number as immortal as it is for the Rockets, Astros and Oilers.

I'm not a big fan of Houston teams letting anybody wear 34.

IMO, Earl played his ball in Houston, & I don't think anybody can live up to what he did here.

FIrst off, Roc Alexander better be worried. He's got #20, too. Nick Ferguson has to be a little worried as well. He's got #28 like Molden.

Cedric Killings and Eric Powel are both listed with #97... but Killings has retired after the accident, right?

Jon Abbate and Will Demps are both listed as #47.

I think we have to work on this whole unique number thing.

That is because the person who updates the website has done a poor job of it. He still list Ron Dayne as number 36 and I know for a fact he is no longer on the team.

Ive always hoped that we would get a stud RB , and have them wear 34 .

I was hoping Jordan Black would be gone by now and Brown might like the look of #71

Yeah, I've got a really nice Tony Boselli jersey I want to convert.

Technically, a Texan did make the number immortal. He just wasn't a Houston Texan. ;) texanpride

I agree 100%. I honestly wish the team would just retire the number, 1) out of respect for Houston football fans and our memories, and 2) to pay respect to the greatest football player this city has ever seen.

Plus, wouldn't it be a great way to punk Dud Adams if we honored Earl with a number retirement. Earl would definitely show up in Houston, during a Texans game, while he absolutely refused to go to Nashville, stating he never played in Tennessee and was never a Titan.

Hate to say it, but it is extremely unlikely that a Houston Texan will ever live up to the legacy of #34 in this city. I'd love to see it happen (obviously), but considering that Earl, Hakeem, and Nolan were once-in-a-generation Hall of Fame players, it is very doubtful that the stars would align and we get that type of player wearing that specific number.

Umm....correct me if I am wrong but Robert Brazille was also a linebacker that wore #52.

OOOOOOOHHHHHHH MaaaaaaaaaaaaNNNNN!!!!!

It's confirmed. Robert Brazile did indeed wear # 52.

Like the numbers.

I hope Okam switches to 92 eventually and when we get our 3-down pass rushing DE he gets #93

#90 Mario Williams
#91 Amobi Okoye
#92 Franklin Okam
#93 ?????

I like the 20 for Slaton.

I agree! There's just something sacred about that number, and it should belong exclusively to EARL!! NO ONE else deserves the right to wear it. JMO!!!

Roc is not on the team - he's a free agent.

Killings retired.

Powell is wearing 72.

16 DBs on the roster now ... makes the numbers a bit scarce.

I don't care as long as Reggie Bush gets to wear #5. Oh wait - I don't care about him either!

Seriously I'm stoked about these new guys!

Dr. X or Mr. X - I like them both. How about DR for Demeco Ryans and Mr. X for Adibi = Dr. X duo?

El Tejano

When DR. X rushes the QB, the QB doesn't run away from him. The ground the QB is standing on slides away from DR. X because it is too afraid of the pounding it will take when he sacks the QB.

I also think it would be cool to have a geat D-Line player wear # 79 , Ray Childress' old number . He could CLOBBER big offensive linemen . :bat: :heh:
